Loving all these updates from everyone!!
@seawolf what I’m a bit nervous about come wash time is the length shrinking. I very warm soaked it with solid hand agitation when new. The length is a perfect 25.75” right now. Length is one of those things I’m hyper picky about. 25” is too short for my preference. Hoping a straight cold wash won’t have any effect when the time comes.
-
@Mizmazzle Omg. Mine is too long. Want to trade?! I did a hot soak at first, so I think I have some shrinkage to look forward to when I finally wash it with agitation. What size is yours that enabled you to get it down to 25.75"?
-
I just measured. I'm also a tag size 40, and my hot soak got me down to 26-3/4", so in the hot wash it goes! I don't think you'll get any more shrinking, especially if you stick with cold washes. I love a short Type III, so the length is really the only thing that's ever bothered me about this jacket. I sold my buttery soft unmodified 21oz 526od because it didn't have pockets, and I don't love OD denim, and opted for the Lefty instead. But that old jacket was such an amazing length for me!
-
@Mizmazzle no, I don’t think so. I didn’t measure but I imagine it was closer to the size charts.
I just pulled my jacket out of the wash after a hot soak and a hot wash with plenty of agitation, and I landed on 25.5”, so I’m stoked!
-
@seawolf oh sweet dude!! Might even tighten up a bit more as it dries! Look forward to seeing how it looks post wash!!
Edit: just looked at my presoak measurements. Mine was at 26.75…so I lost exactly an inch to land at 25.75. If yours was near the posted measurements that would be 27.3 down to 25.5. That’s about 1.75” of shrink in the length. Now I’m really scared hahah. Maybe I’ll just never wash mine like @twin

@seawolf the beast is getting tamed

Any plans for a restock soon?
-
@bluemantra I think it's not very close, they restocked it 2/3 months ago
-
@Luijim78 oh wow, okay. Sold out fast then. Thanks

I was inspired by @seawolf and the slight funkiness coming from my jacket…so gave it a cold hand wash. Got a bit more shrink in sleeves and length.
Not a ton of noticeable difference in the photos. But to the eye in person, the denim has a lot more character now.

@Mizmazzle funky for sure mate

Mine definitely has less wear than you guys, but I spent the winter working in it in my print shop so it was due for a wash. Tossed it in the washer on gentle/cold with spin cycle and air dryed outside. I also feel like it shrunk a bit in the arms but the body feels the same thankfully. It's definitely nice and crispy again. Don't feel like I lost much indigo besides the electric blues lightening up.
-
@october-rust nice man! Love how a wash unlocks a bit of depth to the texture of the denim. Bit lighter blue too.
The League of Lefty is alive and strong!!

@Mizmazzle even if I don’t wear it as much as I’d like it is my favorite denim jacket I’ve ever owned by far! It’s a shame I’ll have to tuck it away for the summer soon.
