IHJ-64-BLK - Horsehide Modified Type III Jacket - Black (Tea-Core Dyed)
-
@jdixon1974 That's awesome! I have this jacket also and it is such a good leather jacket. The leather breaks in so nicely and really softens up. I've had mine for about a year now (I think) and wear it while riding my bike mostly, which has helped break it in. I really plan on wearing it a lot during the spring time this year. Enjoy it man, and we need some pictures!!

@travisxray Any chance you have tried on the split steerhide version of this jacket? According to online measurements, they should fit similar but want to make sure before I order. I never thought about using this while riding my bike (I've got an old guzzi that likes to try and light itself on fire a few times a year) but it would be a good way to break it in on a warm day.

@jdixon1974 I have not tried the split steerhide version, however, if the measurements are about the same I'd assume the fit would be pretty close.

Here are some pics that may (or may not) help prospective buyers of this jacket.
I'm 6'1, 185lbs and take a 35/36 dress shirt sleeve length as I have longer arms. This is the size 42 (XL) jacket.
Most leather jackets don't work for me as I need a size large for the body, but the sleeves are too short. Moving up to an XL makes the body to big and the sleeves are usually still too short.
As you can see here, the 42 (XL) sleeve length is great for me. The jacket is still too stiff to try and button up, but I can do it and it's definitely a slim fit across the chest. Chances are I'll never button it up anyways. I would compare this fit to a Schott 42 long.
Another reference point is I wear a size 42 in blazers from brands like Canali, Boglioli, Tagliatore and Lardini for the body and then get the sleeves lengthened slightly.
I usually take a size large in every other brand of jacket, t-shirt, sweater etc that I buy from various brands.
I tried on an XXL (44) of the same style of jacket in the split steer hide from IH at the store but it was too big in the shoulders, big in the chest and the arms around the biceps were baggy. This could have been because of the softer material or the size. I am interested in the Steer hide and will probably get the same 42 (XL) size in that as well if I find one.

@jdixon1974 that looks amazing, a little more spacious than mine but I'd imagine that's a net benefit if regular worn whilst riding.
Great pickup!
-
@jdixon1974 great write up! Looks incredible on you!!
-
@jdixon1974 That looks like it fits you very well! Just wait till you get that leather softened up and shaped more to your body.
-
@jdixon1974 mine was from Re-Loved so didn't have to endure the break-in process, but I can assure you it softens up nicely..
Can be buttoned/unbuttoned effortlessly with one hand now!

@T4920
have you done something against the shiny look they usually have ? or was it a result of the rain ?
Looks awesome -
@Daniel-San I've been caught in the rain numerous times in it, wear it once or twice a week, and am definitely not babying it, but to my eyes at least, it looks the same as when I got it a couple of months ago.
It was from Re-Loved though (lightly used), so potentially the natural sheen could've been slightly dulled from prior wear..
Or maybe it's just the bad lighting in my dingy little office

what ever , great catch -
@T4920 like a glove mate

@doubletee I know right
When I saw the measurements I just knew it was gonna be perfect. Genuinely don't think I could get a better fit if it was made to measure... Perfectly fitted, and does not hinder any aspect of movement in my upper body, had no idea it was possible for a jacket to fit so well! -
Fit pics - 188 lbs, 5’11”, XXL.

Fellas, I'm 5"10, 190lbs, 42 Chest. Wear a 44 Y2 Western shirt jacket. I've poured over this entire thread, the remaining internet, size charts from multiple sources and still need advice. Think I can fit the large? The P2P size is the only thing that concerns me. The Shop Vancouver says shoulders for Large are 18.8" and p2p is 22.3". Is this accurate? If so, this would be quit form fitting for me but doable. If Large is smaller than this, I'm not so sure it will stretch enough to ever be comfortable. Thanks for any insights that can be shared.

@Rooney-04 looking at the measurements on the IH website those figures could be accurate. Your best bet will be to reach out to the shop to clarify any open questions on your side

@Tago-Mago
Fair enough. I'll try to get exact measurements of the item in stock. Thanks and cheers.
