IH-526L - 19oz Left-Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Type III - Indigo
-
This type III is on the top of my wantlist. Passed on a 38 a few weeks ago on Withered Fig as the measured sizing seemed too large for a medium. (I wear a size medium in Rogue Territory and their sizing is very slim). Kicking myself now though because it sounds like there won’t be a restock until 2025!!

@bluemantra I’m gonna get some 634 lefties whenever they’re back. Once I got the jacket I was like “dammit dude — how the hell did you pass on the jeans?” Haha cant wait…
I know. I like how stiff and crisp this jacket is and want it in the jeans as well.
-
@bluemantra for sure. I love the crispness of it, and I really love the color. To my eyes at least, I feel like it's the darkest IH denim, and we all know from the pics how much those electric blues end up popping. Rad shit.

@Mizmazzle looking very nice dude!

@Mizmazzle yes bud loving it

Wanted to pull some guidance from the hive mind. Just picked up a 19oz lefty twill….query before wear: To Soak Hot/cold or let this bad boy break me physically/emotionally and just wear it straight out of the box?
Fits pretty good with out soak and the stiffness doesn’t seem to be unmanageable. Although this is a 36 hours observation.
Is there an option that is more conducive to better fades or longevity?
-
@cmccrumm be ready for it to shrink when you get it wet. Even a cold soak and line dry will give you notable shrinkage.
If you like how it fits now, you may need to keep it dry. If you have a bit of room to tighten it up, cold water only. If you have a good amount of size to lose, warm-hot water.I’ve been through shrinking two lefty’s and had to sell my first because it shrunk smaller than I wanted it to. My second one shrunk tons too but I knew that the second time around and got the exact fit I wanted.
-
@Mizmazzle it definitely has room to shrink. So not concerned about the fit not working after a hot or cold soak. Other than the fit being more formed to the body after a soak, is there any primary reason to soak before hand?
Heard a lot of “set the creases” but not sure if this can be done just by wear, or is it a better to “set creases” super early on with a soak
-
@Kasi is it better to “set creases” early on in the wear? Or can this be accomplished just by putting a lot of wear into the piece? Are the creases different soak vs non soak in the first 90 days?
-
@goosehd that is an excellent call! Makes sense.
-
@cmccrumm I prefer to soak it first so I can get the sizing stabilized. I like to know the fit is how I want it early so there are no heartbreaking surprises later.
As for setting the creases, It's a sure fire way to get them set early and start to develop honey combs faster. One thing I learned with my first lefty was wearing it damp and going heavy on the movement trying to get max creasing...I ended up creating elbow bags from stretching the denim on the elbow side when damp. Now, I just let it dry completely before wearing it. Then to set the creases, I just splash water on the front side of the arm where the creases will be to set them...leave the rest of the sleeve dry to avoid the elbow bags...
You could also just not go so hard with the bending and flexing of the arms so the elbows don't bag out too.

Check out IH's shrink test results. Very on par with what I experienced as well.
-
@goosehd I think the actual product page was updated to read "Unsanforized but one-washed - some shrinkage to be expected (see test results)" after the shrink test completed on the latest batch here https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum//post/754877
looks like Mizmazzle beat me to it.

@pechelman It has not as that is where I took it from.
@AdamJ Heads up that the product page is incorrect. (Details Tab)
