They should stretch at least an inch. The slub is very elastic. And if they don’t work you should be able to flip them easily as long as they aren’t hemmed. Hemmed pants are trickier to resell.

That’s cool. Just make sure you’re happy with the fit before you hem. I’d wear them cuffed for a bit. It won’t take long for them to start stretching out in the waist so it shouldn’t be a big deal to give it a day or two just to make sure. Best of luck.
