WESCO-MRLOU-NATH - Wesco® - 10" Horsehide Engineer Boot - Natural. The "Mister Lou"
-
@Oaktavia haha that’s a positive attitude….i will adopt it
-
@deanclean hope they do!
-
Got’em
-
Amazing. All of them!
-
@northsouthdenimguy so good and with no grain break!
-
@Peterldavey I got lucky…
-
@northsouthdenimguy I like the contrasting WESCO stamp on these. They are going to evo so beautifully. If I didn't already have these in black and brown, I'd be all over these.
-
@Oaktavia thanks really looking forward to putting some wear on these boots. The leather is definitely a lot stiffer than my other Wesco engineers
-
@Oaktavia brown CXL, also have a pair of the British tan rough out Derroll boot from Ship John
-
@northsouthdenimguy nice
-
Pains me to say I just got back from the post office. I had to return mine. The fit just wasn’t right. I think for the most part it was good, but the shaft was very loose. I don’t know if my calves/legs are too skinny but they were swimming in there. Maybe I’m just not used to the style of boot.
-
@deanclean oh damn sorry to hear that. Wesco shaft are usually very tight
-
@Peterldavey mine were pretty hard to get on this morning and I was questioning the sizing, but after wearing them for a few hours they’ve loosened up considerably.
-
@Johnnyutah247 that’s good to hear. I have a pair of rolling dub trio and they were tough to get on at first then over a few months became easier and moulded to my feee and now like a pair of slippers
-
I have to admit, this is my first pair of horsehide boots. Is there any care or conditioning routine I should follow? I’ve always wore cxl boots and left them alone.
-
@Johnnyutah247 not really will need a little more care than cxl. However don’t over condition, I used to use Venetian cream when they got dry. I used to wear mine every day fairly hard for a month and gave them a little condition once a month. Just depends how often and how you wear them
-
First wear. I removed the Wesco leather insole and put in a thin Pedag. Wearing lightweight darntough socks, but feel like these will break in considerably to the point where I will use the original insert and wear medium white boots socks.
Definitely agree with the post above as the shaft on these seem to be a little looser or larger than my other Mister Lou/Derroll boot. They probably aren’t, just the stiffness of the leather causes them not to be as formed or round as the CXL.
