@GraemeE hope you feel better soon, man! Here are some latelies:
Priori - This But More (dubbed out ambient techno)
Full Bloom - Time Zones (kinda trip-hop, acid jazz even)
David Torn - Cloud About Mercury (some of the guitars on the above album are Torn-y and sparked a revisit)
White Ward - False Light (Ukrainian black metal with interesting prog-ish tendencies)
Omni - Souvenir (Strokes-y herky jerky rock)
Cola - Deep in View (Similar, but better ^^^)
Pugilist - Banoffee Pies Beats 04 (more 90s-y trip-hoppiness)
Sneaks - Gymnastics (No-wave-y dance-y shit)
Sonic Youth - Murray St (duh)
The Clientele - I Am Not There Anymore (still can’t put it down)
Arooj Aftab - Night Reign (insanely beautiful, just listen)
Au Suisse - Au Suisse (80s-worshipping goodness)
Pile - All Fiction (def a very fave rock release over the past couple years)Edit: adding audiobooks...
Listened to Jonathan Heidt's The Happiness Hypothesis recently and really enjoyed it. Also Thurston Moore's Sonic Life ruled, and I'm currently listening to a book called The Courage to Be Disliked, which explores Adlerian psychology in an interesting way. Some of it's a little corny in the delivery (the premise of the book is a conversation between a young student and an old philosopher) but I've found a lot of it nonetheless very interesting and useful. Also lately I've read Babel by R.F. Kuang, finished the last book of N.K. Jemisin's Inheritance Trilogy, and am about halfway through The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells, all of which would probably be great to listen to. Outside the sort of sci-fi/alternate history realm, I read Martyr by Kaveh Akbar and North Woods by Daniel Mason, both of which I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed.

@Matt ahh shit I knew a new one was coming but didn’t realize it’d actually dropped. Hell yes! Did you listen to Ought?
-
@popvulture I haven’t. I’ll check that out tomorrow, thank you.
-
@Matt they’re definitely good. I’d heard of them years ago and listened a little — liked it but didn’t really spend any more time with them until I got into Cola and went backwards. Cool to see the guy’s chops developing.
