@FlavourFade what D said. My black engineers are so comfortable at this point, they almost feel custom (literally smile every other time I slide them on) but in the beginning was vconcerned about the forefoot being too snug and if I should’ve went up half a size. At this point some rolls were developing and exchanging was off the table so I doubled down and wore em w a thicker sock (IHs engineer sock of course) and within a couple weeks, had noticeably more wiggle room. Definitely helps soften the blow w those early day friction points.

@FlavourFade
be happy you have the cxl the shinki’s are a complete different league. Very hard to break in . Almost quit when starting to wear them. But than came the day when they really started to mould and from than on it went better and better. Wouldn’t call them fully broken in today, but it’s ok to wear them a full day without any pain . Think they shinki’s need around 100-120 days to be great. -
@goosehd @Flannel @Daniel-San thanks guys for the input! That sounds relieving. I'm just gonna wear them for shorter periods and break them in slowly.
-
@FlavourFade
you can go to a gobbler to check those parts that cause blisters. maybe he can flatten them -
@Daniel-San good Idea, but I just realized it's the stitching on the back of the shaft, so all I can do is to wait for my foot to get settled like the left one.

I'm still struggling with my engineers a bit. I tried different socks but now without the honeymoon phase I always feel pressure at my right pinky toe. When I wear them longer or walk faster it causes pain. The left foot is roomy and feels perfect. Will the pressure go away with break in? I think that the main reason is the width of my right foot.
-
@FlavourFade Go to a cobbler and ask for help!! I could be something that can be fixed easily by stretching the problem areas.
-
@FlavourFade yes my friend, one foot is always more problematic than the other with engineers. You have to have a little patience, now with the heat your feet are more swollen (at least where I come from these days they are really hellish 🥵). I'm sure it will get better and better

@FlavourFade
where do you live in Germany? If Cologne/Köln is reachable, go to Ingo Keller the shoe God ! He is the right guy to help . -
@Daniel-San thanks Daniel! I live in lower saxony so Ingo is quite a trip away but maybe I reach out to him!
-
CXL’s are breaking in quite nicely. Finally able to slide past the pass through point. Still using the plastic bag but not breaking a sweat any longer.
