@FlavourFade @Denimhead-0 moved my response from the motorcycle thread here. I ended up going with a lightly used find, also on last 8, rather than the 2060. A 2012 round toe, in the copper roughout. The previous owner barely wore them and had insoles in, so didn’t mold the cork/leather. They’re less broke in than my latest pair of work chukkas. Freshened them up with a thorough wash and condition. I’m already thinking these might be my favorite pair. It’s just a shame they’re extinct.

Wearing my 9060 for work today and did not remember them being that comfy. They are great to walk in and look awesome.
-
@FlavourFade The 9060 is indeed surprisingly comfortable even with a non boot sock. Wear mine a lot at work too.
Cheers -
Then show us some pictures, love to see some wear and tear on the 9060 @PJ

@WhiskeySandwich I have been eyeing a pair of these. I run a 9 in my Mocs, you think 9.5 on these would be dialed based on your experience?
-
@derek111 I’m not sure if I’m normal, but I’m a 9 in all RW except the work chukka. The round toe is on the #8 last and is the best fit for my foot. These fit exactly like my Blacksmiths. The Mocs in the same size are roomier on my feet, volume-wise, that goes for the 1907 too, on the #45, which I wear without the insole. My brannock is 10, and I wear a US10 in Vans. I sure wish the still made the round toe tho, def my favorite model. I might try and find another pair in another leather.
-
@WhiskeySandwich I decided to go with the Weekender chukka, actually found some I could try on. Went half size up from the Mocs, and they feel perfect. Thanks for the Intel dude!

Hast anyone changed the laces on their 9060? Still don't really like the waxed ones but not sure about new laces and what colour? Maybe gold?

@Denimhead-0 those sure are nice! man I'd love if they did a 360 welt on these with a Traction Tred and no speed hooks. They ought to bring back the roundtoe/rover. I've been finding I don't like having heels, but man I do love my Blacksmiths.
-
@WhiskeySandwich I think Blacksmiths are my favs, also love the round and Moc toes.

I realize I've gone a bit too far with my Wings collection, having 5 pair now. They're just such a great buy. I love the process of breaking in a new pair, and enjoy them softening up and forming to my feet like a custom piece molded just for my body. One peculiarity though, is a tough spot I've run into with every pair I've broken in. The inside edge of the left big toe. I'm not sure if its a manufacturing thing or a my-foot-thing, but at a certain stage of break-in, it always feels like there's an extra dense bit of cork under there that just refuses to mash down and compress like the rest. It's always the final hurdle before they reach perfection. Long after a pair has broken in, this one spot hangs up for months until it smashes out.
Anybody else experienced anything that feels like an inconsistent compression of the cork/leather footbed before reaching full break-in?
