@JamesB nah we generally go with a 4-1-4-1 Wide formation when playing away from home or when up against stronger opposition – the objective of this tactic is to absorb pressure and allow our opponents to have most of the possession until they enter our own half, upon which we then close down immediately to win back the ball and break forward on the counter. By packing/overloading the centre of the pitch with three midfielders, we aim to nullify the opposition’s attacks by narrowing the space and forcing them out wide where we have hard-working wide players and fast full-backs that have strong Tackling, Anticipation, Positioning and Acceleration, and therefore are used to win back the ball and release accordingly
@AdamC Jesus, that's even worse, imagine being a West Ham fan
-
@Nocturama Just imagine ha ha
-
Pompey under harry redknapp was quality.. not much can be said about recent years tho
-
@louisbosco Redknapp was amazing and seeing AC Milan at Fratton was an amazing experience, unfortunately, Harry put the club into financial dismay but we are on the up again... fingers crossed
-
@JamesB just want Kanu back
-
@louisbosco I agree, so many great players. Who's your all time favourite Pompey player?
-
@JamesB wow that’s a tough one. From the days I remember watching them in the prem. David James stood out the most. Also, as a United fan, I’d never forget the free kick CR7 scored against him. Iirc, it was an fa cup game too
-
@louisbosco I do remember that.. great free kick just wish it wasn't against us ha ha. David James was class I have to agree but I think Robert Prosinecki and Paul Merson were incredible too many to choose from
