Y’2 Leathers….
-
My (size 46) Y2 single rider has opened up, but it’s taken around ~50 wears or so. I sized up for the chore jacket (48), but I think the horsehide stiffness is what contributes to the immobility (especially at the shoulders), because even though the fit is much better in the (48), it’s still quite difficult to move my shoulders

@flannel-slut
I'm not great at taking selfies. The fit feels like it could turn into perfection when this eventually softens and shapes to me. That's what I'm really hoping for since i wore it today and can no longer exchange it. -
@Rooney-04 I think that looks great, and will fit well long term!

Looks like you are close to my size. 5'9" 200lbs 43"chest, also trying to get down to 185 lol
XL in a RGT supply jacket 23p2p
between L and XL in freenote RJ1,RJ2 24p2p
usually a XXL in ironheart, my XXXL whipcord type 3 23.6p2p feels too large, my XL 23p2p shirt feels a hair snug.
42 in my old schott
My type 1 is a 42 and snug, but I could still drive a car and think it will break in to be the perfect size. (would have assumed I was a 44)
I went to the shop on the weekend and tried the roughout chore in a 44, it felt great, I can't wait to get one. TJ was super nice to talk with, I was a bit overwhelmed looking at all the cool stuff.
I was going to try a 46 chore but didn't bother as the sleeves on the 44 were already a hair long, and it felt fine through the chest, way easier to raise my arms than the HH type 1. In hindsight I should have tried a size 42 in the chore shirt to compare.Bought some mustang paste, but not sure if I should get the jacket damp and wear it to shape it first, the paste might just make the water bead off.

The elements (summer heat and damp/rain) were friends to all my Y2s; really helped them shape and fit faster. Goodluck !

@popvulture was lucky to make it to the y2 shop this year. I’m a hard 23” in the chest, 19ish shoulders and around 6’1”. I bought two pieces there and everything that fit me well was a 44 for me with some space. Based on what your saying and the way y2 is fitting (I know I know first the measurements) 44 prolly good for you. I was swimming in a 46.

@T4920 Osaka. Pretty close to the IH shop. Appointment only. Prices are def cheaper and the experience of being immersed in the whole collection is awesome. He overnighted my jackets back to Kyoto so I didn’t have to carry them the whole day. Was a great 2 hours of my trip and came home with a variation of a jacket he never ”mass” produced.
** wife also enjoyed it for bonus points

@jfk1117 that’s super helpful, man — thank you! We’re pretty close dimensions wise, so 44 sounds spot on.

Hey Guys, sorry if this is a dumb question, but it's one that has kept me from from taking that first swing with The Shop Vancouver. For context, I LOVE LOVE LOVE TJ and his production style. Seems like a super great dude and they carry amazing stuff. I'd love to support them. But my question is this for those buying from the U.S.,... Can anyone speak to what their customs experience was like when buying say a $2000 jacket from The Shop? I've read everything on Google. For example, you might not have to pay any fees, you might have to pay before delivery, and you might have to pay when they send you a bill after delivery. Are any of these accurate? Thanks for any insights anyone in the U.S and preferably TX can share in case the state makes a difference. Thank you!!
