Cheers guys @Denman-John , @Denimhead-0 , @goosehd ; glad I was able to entertain you with them!!
@jimcasey no she isn’t…..I was going to spare you guys this stupid story, but since you asked.
I was going to do this trip on the Guzzi regardless of the glittch to speed up the first checkup service. Obstacle was gasoline. You won’t believe this:
This country is chock-full of silly bureaucratic rules. Every vehicle (besides paying taxes, being insured, pass technical inspection) MUST go through an additional hurdle of registering it with the national oil authority and getting a plastic ID similar to a credit card. You MUST show it at gas stations to fill up otherwise they’ll refuse. Here comes the kicker…I already did all that as soon as I got the Guzzi on the street (you have to physically show the vehicle you are registering), but the bureaucrats have ran out of plastic IDs!!! I have to wait until late August to get one. Unbelievable, but hey, there are other niceties locally which make it worth putting up with this junk. So, the responsibility of getting me to Toro Toro and back fell on my R1200R. She is an unbelievable traveller.@Ross jajajajaja glad you got a laugh out of it!

@motojobobo what a palaver. Still, having a nice beemer to fall back on must soften the blow.

Currently in Prince Rupert, BC Canada and 1600kms into this road trip so far …

@Denman-John I loved Prince Rupert. We took the Inside Passage from there, that was quite an expericence.

Another day smashing bugs… I think my jacket is due for its first wash when I get home!
@motojobobo @Denimhead-0 @tody Thanks guys - it’s been a great trip so far and I’m closing in on 3000kms. In my tent now eating fish & chips while it rains. First rain so far and isn’t expected to last long. Got lucky today and pulled off the road just in time.

A few pictures from today. The morning started off beautiful, but by the time I got to Whistler the rain started coming down all the way to the ferry at Horseshoe Bay/Vancouver. The rain continued on Vancouver Island and is still raining now. Made it home safely after completing 3125kms in 5 days and 4 nights camping. Didn’t take many pictures as I needed some throttle therapy time and just wanted to ride. The DR chugged along like a champ. I had it serviced and put a new set of tires on it before the trip and I really liked how it felt riding all day. I have no doubt this bike can take me anywhere I want to go - on or off road. I’m tired in a good way and look forward to sleeping in my bed tonight.

@Denman-John Consider yourself lucky to have that kind of landscape right outside your door. I really need to go back to the PNW. So many great memories that need some refreshing. My desktop wallpaper is a shot of Medicine Lake I took nearly 15 years ago.
