@Denman-John Great pictures and thank you for taking us along. I love the PNW and it's rugged beauty!

@Denman-John - inspiring stuff man.

10K service on the Guzzi. Treated myself to a new pipe, removed the CAT, and fitted the mistral plug in V-twin boost. Also fitted tyres with more capacity for dirt. Runs much better and sounds like a real V-twin now.
@motojobobo - have you sorted your out V85 out yet?

@jimcasey still working on it. I’ve tried several things (spark plugs, injectors, cylinder compression, rearranging electronic connections, fuel system cleaner,…) and no change. Sent an audio/video to the tech guys at the dealership and they think that all is OK with the functioning on mine. Puzzling, but I’m going with their expert opinion. Hoping that once the first service rolls around, I’m now at 1100 km, the valve check and ECU flash will sort out that irregular heart beat.
These bikes run a bit hot and that isn’t ideal in my climate. I see you already made some changes to yours. Happy with yours? Interested to hear how things changed with the V-twin boost. Details on your impressions on the changes before/after on yours may be illuminating for my case.
I’m considering going for a full setup upgrade, from the headers to the exhaust. I’m wary about the sound, I want a cooler running bike with a linear acceleration curve, but I don’t enjoy noisy bikes. Not really crazy about increasing power. In general terms, I’m happy with the current power I get with it as is while riding it in SPORT mode.
Still working on the exhaust options. Difficult to judge how loud/obnoxious different exhausts are on the videos onlne because there is no ‘standardized’ noise recording protocol. Fortunately I’m able to still find the process interesting. -
@motojobobo I went the Mistral header pipes and exhaust and the V-Twin boost set up, and am really impressed. The engine feels like it's breathing easier, more torque available off a dead start, & less heat generated though the CAT removal.
It doesn't transform it into a litre sports bike, thank god, but it does make the whole package feel more responsive.
Sound wise - I've not measured it but there is a marginal decibel increase. Nothing noteworthy. The sound is more throaty and V-Twin like though.
I waited for my 10K service to do all this, as much to let the engine run in as anything.

I’ve had a few days to relax and process the trip … it was kind of last minute and I didn’t even know where I was going when I left the house. I just needed off the island and wanted to ride. In a much better head space now.
@tody Thanks for the comments. I feel very fortunate to live and work where I do and am grateful for it every day. As for being right outside my door, it took me 2 ferries and 5 hours just to get to the mainland. From there the real adventure began. And yes, I definitely agree that you should make it back this way. There is so much to explore! I heard that the inside passage is very beautiful from the ferry, I take a ferry to and from work so the thought of spending 18 hours on a ferry isn’t as enticing as it might be for others.
@endo and thank you for taking us along on your hikes, travels and adventures in the endomobile!
@Bailey Thanks man!
@Denimhead-0 Aren't they all! That is a really sweet Road King you recently got ~ it photographs so nice. What year is it?
@goosehd Thanks and I agree!
@jimcasey Thanks. I always enjoy reading your posts. I hope we get to see some of Australia from the seat of your Moto Guzzi. It also seems that we have the same taste in black work jackets

@Denman-John Thank you! It’s a 2006 Garage Queen, only had 3,800 miles.

@WhiskeySandwich Man I love it so far. I’ve been trying to decide for a while now on what bike I wanted and I kept coming back to this one. I wanted something decently sporty but also able to do a long commute on, since I’ve got about a 35 mile commute one way (and it’s 95% highway)

Enjoying the mid controls. Forwards aren’t for me

Too much work Electric start all day

@Denimhead-0 I like my knees where they are and would go with the electric start too…mid way through that video you could see it catch and kick over…just about launched that guy. It would have probably broken something on me.
