@goosehd Thank you very much
With all my love for IH but I don't think it's worth it to me -
@markus_berlin_ …and it’s a stretch for me as well. A few months ago, a member of the forum tried to sell a pair of pre-lawsuit Ironheart’s for $20,000 USD here in the marketplace. I quickly removed it and let the poster know that the last pair of jeans from that batch were one’s from Giles personal collection and had sold for $175…
Some people are sharing the love, and some are out to make a quick buck. My preference is for the former.

pre-lawsuit
Oh, well now you've piqued a lawyer's curiosity... What was this lawsuit?

@EdH Levi's Red-tab trademark.

This has probably been asked before but is there anything you can do to prevent a crotch blowout?

I think I like it.
-
@tody Oh, so IH used to have a red tab instead of the red W?
-
@Denman-John If it's already started, best to get @JoshC to re-inforce it before it becomes a larger problem. They tend not to stop in place and will just get progressively worse, in my experience.

It’s interesting — I guess the Levi’s red tab copyright only has real effect in the states, because a lot of brands (Momotaro, Strike Gold, Samurai, TCB, others I’m sure) still have tabs on their jeans if you order a pair from a non-US retailer. I definitely prefer these pairs for the dork factor. Guessing this is also why some brands like Oni don’t put arcs on their US-sold jeans?
I find this whole IP thing laughable at times from these legacy brands who go after companies who just try to make stuff at the original level of quality of said legacy brands. See also: the entire world of guitar shit.

Looking at you Jerry Jones

@GraemeE Tastytrons
EDIT: nm I was thinking of TV Jones. But another case in point

@EdH Thank you, but I will probably take care of the mending myself as the distance and time to send them to IHUK would be excessive. I also kind of like the look of Sashiko mending. I have 2 pairs that are almost wearing through and will hopefully get to mending them sooner than later. Both pairs are less than a year old with about 3-4 washes and 21oz. Should I be looking for a tighter or looser fit? Wash more often? Or is this par for the course with heavy denim and daily wear? The cuffs are also starting to wear through, but that’s another topic. Just wondering if there might be a fit remedy or is it just wear and tear in a high movement area? One question starts snowballing …

@goosehd Thanks for the link - just finished reading it and answered most of my questions. Much appreciated

I like it too, but 200 euros for a Tshirt
I would take your shirt for the price -
has anyone ever added belt loops to their jeans? I just bought my first pair of 888s and do not like how there is only one center belt loop. I always liked it when jeans have two center belt loops as I feel it gives better support from the back.

@EdH , I believe IH (as well as other brands) were also using Levi's chevron arcuates, as well.
Iron Heart and any other brand Levis decided to have a pop at, were threatened with legal action if we did any of the following.
- Used a red red tab
- Used an arcuate that resembled the Levis "batwings"
- Used a patch that included a pair of jeans being pulled apart by a pair of animate or inanimate objects.
It was a complete pain. Haraki did a load of designs for the new arc, shared them with me and we decided on the current version. But to be sure it would be OK, he went and got Levis approval to it.
Long story short. This episode was the first major inflection points in our growth as a brand. Until Levis flexed their muscles and threw their weight around, hardly anyone outside of Japan had heard of us (or indeed knew that the Japanese denim scene even existed). Levi's made sure many more did. No such thing as bad publicity.
Thanks wankers.
