Wallets, Chains, and Reins

I’ve found that I was able to get used to more than I expected.
I have one of those thicc boi shell wallets that IH makes and I have been able to get used to it. Aside from driving- the driver's seat side pushes against my hip so I take my wallet out. The wide pockets on IH jeans help a lot with fat wallets.

Long ago, after a many hours long international flight sitting on my wallet i had to move it to my front pocket just due to some back/hip pain. Once I did that i never put a wallet in my back pocket again.
On another long recent international flight my wallet was placed into a camera bag where it lived for the duration of the trip. After experiencing how nice it is to have nothing in the pockets, i decided to give a daily carry bag a try and shortly after got the ihe-37. Don't see myself going to back.
So while the thickness isnt a problem for pants, it does get very thick and bulky in an otherwise slim rear pocket. Still may give this a try before putting it up for sale. Should have known better with how my wallet choice has evolved over the years.

@pechelman if you do decide to part with the indigo dipped one please give me a heads up if you don’t mind the international shipping?

@Oaktavia yup, love the wide pockets for motorcycles especially. I always used to put my wallet in the front pocket.
My Mr.Lentz slim biker wallet is about as heavy duty as I could go. Tough as nails and fits everything I need, nothing I don’t.

@Oaktavia Leather Works Brother in Japan sells them. Their goods look nice in photos, but I haven't seen them for real.

They do look nice in the photos. They seem to want you to send in an order form to place an order. I haven't ordered from a Japan site like those before. Have you?
Edit: it appears each page has an order request form. I sent an order request in and it says to wait for an email. They look quite nice and are customizable. I went with black overdyed with red sinew on the request. They also have a Copper Black hardware which ages nicely. I think it might be an copper with a black coating that wears away. I hope they hit me back because they look awesome.

@Oaktavia if not having tea core isn’t a deal breaker, Ewing Dry Goods (EDG) located in Juneau Alaska has some very nice, well crafted black vegetable tanned braided lanyards. I personally haven’t purchased a lanyard from them as of yet, but have purchased other items and was pleased with the quality and customer experience. [ewingdrygoods.com]

@Oaktavia I haven't.
There's a page about placing an order on their website, which suggests that the form is more of an enquiry, after which they'll supply a price and delivery time.
Maybe drop them an email (there's an address on their homepage) and see what they come back with.
I like their Handy Wallet, but I've never tried getting one. You can be the guinea pig for placing an order!

@Graeme I edited my post below. I sent in a request.
@John-Galt oh yes I know if this guy. If this Japanese brand does not work out, I'll check him out again. Thanks!

@Oaktavia i have the natural braided lanyard from Ewing dry goods and it’s been awesome. I’ve had it a few months now.

I ended up hitting up Ewing Dry Goods and he hit me back right away. I was originally going to ask him if he could do a black teacore wallet leash but then I saw a turqouise leather roll in one of the recent photos he posted. I asked him if he could make a leash from that and he said he could so check this out:
I also asked him if he could add something from nature and he said he had some antler. I am so stoked on this. I asked about the other beads and he said this:
Two long ones are elk antler, solid brass (uncoated to patina), and an antique turquoise trade bead.
Looking so forward to wearing it with my IH mid wallet. I mean look at this thing it's fecking TURQUOISE! I'm over the Moon with how it turned out. Thought I would share as he was recommend here and by several folks on Instagram. Dude is legit.

@Oaktavia man that thing looks amazing. I’ve never hit him up for something custom but I definitely will now. I’ve had nothing but good interactions with them and I’m glad you had the same experience. I’m curious how that will patina over time.
