IH-526-SBG - 21oz Selvedge Denim Modified Type III Jacket - Superblack (Fades To Grey)

@tody Man, you two are dream catchers
I’ve been admiring the TIII SBG for ages and would love to double up daily to see what happens. Currently doing that with pale rider and switch between IHSH-33 and IHSH-366, with another jacket over that. Have also wondered if I should wear an unlined jeans jacket over the pale rider… will it get any indigo on it? That could be fun… @Oaktavia

@mudhogen they will fold and crease nicely. If you want it to crease faster (and plan on keeping it), spray it with a mister bottle of water if you have one or wet the inner elbows in the sink. Wetting helps set creases quickly and will shorten and shape the sleeves.

Think I’m going to exchange for the super black next week. Despite shorter arms I think the fit will be better suited for my body type

@mudhogen Thanks for the pics; definitely looks shorter than the other IH offerings. Mine still hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m hoping the shorter length doesn’t throw me off. I tend to wear a lot of flannels and find that the length of them with shorter jackets sometimes looks a bit odd. I knew this model was short going in, but your pics look like it’s really short, almost cropped. We’ll see how it goes once it gets here.

@Nostradamion for reference I’m 6’5” 210 and this is xxl. I also have a long torso relative to my body. I knew deep down it won’t work based on measurements but wanted it to so bad

@JunkPants that Triangle is an indigo paradise

@denim-dawg Sure is!

My IH526-SBG arrived today, and I must say that I'm pleasently surprised. I expected the jacket to be really short, but in actuality, it's not that much shorter than my other Iron Heart jacket, the IH-526J-142OD. What blows my mind about the SBG out of the box is how burly yet soft it is. I've said it before, but it bears repeating: Iron Heart has some magical alchemy with their fabrics that allows them to get their jackets totally dialed in. The fabric on the SBG is incredibly substantial but also very pliable which gives it an almost custom fitted bombproof feel. As others have noted, the sleeves are a bit large, but I think once the creases set it, the volume won't be as noticeable. I may try the spray bottle treatment as someone else posted in this thread to see how that goes, but as it stands now they're not that bad. Honestly, I'm really chuffed with this jacket, and look forward to seeing what kind of fades I can get in it. Going to wear it tomorrow while shoveling snow (we got close to 6 inches today and it's still coming down). As usual, thanks to everyone in this forum for your great feedback.

@Jcaz6996 Nice! Always great to follow along when you put a new garment to the test.
I've been wearing mine indoors more like a shirt pretty much every day since I got it (been too cold lately for outside wear, -10C). Wear/fades is always super slow for me on jackets and shirts, but I'm in no rush. Always loved black denim (XHSbb was my first IH item), but love it more and more every day.
I will say that the drape/fit on this jacket got so much better after I got rid of the folds on the arms. IMO those heavy arm creases/folds were the main reason the fit of this jacket looked a bit odd in the initial photos.
Awesome jacket. 10/10 for me and highly recommended if you've been on the fence. (I see IH germany still has most sizes in stock for instance).
