IHSH-293-OD - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Black
-
@eemmmiiee anything that we sell which is "Indigo Overdyed Black" is that specific indigo denim, that is then redyed black. The black will fade as will the indigo beneath it and you get bluey black fading as you can see in the photo above your question. The IHSH-362 is "superblack fades to grey" which means a sulphur rope dyed black warp that will fade with wear and washing and a reactive dyed 'superblack' weft which will not fade. This leads to high contrast grey fading

@eemmmiiee no worries.
You can see examples of faded 21oz OD jeans here: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/content/hall-of-fades-21oz-overdyed-indigo
and 21oz SBG jeans here:

I bought this shirt during the September 2024 Self Edge sale and it has become my favorite clothing purchase in years. Been wearing the heck out of it and finally starting to see some blue peaking through.
Is there any general census on machine wash vs hand wash?I did my first two washes hand washed in the bathtub, but it takes a lot of water and effort lol. The only thing I'm worried about with machine wash is wrinkles and creases.

@Alex That really helps a lot. I can clearly see the differences between each fabric type. So, what about Indigo/Black selvedge? Would it be similar to Indigo Overdyed Black? And for Black/Black, would it fade with no contrast between black and grey then?
I’m specifically referring to the IH-526J-142ib and IHJ-86-BLK.

@eemmmiiee the ib denim fades with high contrast blues, see a not very well faded pair here: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/content/hall-of-fades-14oz-indigoblack#ap142ib-1
14oz bb denim fades to grey, but with a lower contrast than SBG

I've added this to my "I'm done wearing my Iron Heart's too small" train and getting this in my new XXL sizing when it comes out. I had both the indigo and the OD, and honestly I found the OD a lot more wearable with denim since it inherently provides a great contrast.
April you say? Can't wait.

@eemmmiiee hey man. I am 172cm and 170lbs.
I have the IHSH-178 which is the previous version of this shirt. I've just looked at the measurements and they haven't changed much between runs.
I have a Size Small in the IHSH-178 and whilst it no longer fits me well, that's not due to me getting taller!
I would measure the length on your best fitting shirt as well as the P2P measurement as I recall it being a little tight in the chest.
Signal on the train is patchy so I will try and dig out some fit pics later.
