@Aetas When I was recording my second album in the UK my bass player and I told the receptionist,at the studio,that we were big fans of The Jam,and she said Paul Weller’s my mate, I’ll give him a jingle. She calls him on the phone and hands the phone to my bass player. He invites us to come to the studio where they’re recording,we go,and he then invites us to come see them play in Manchester,in a gymnasium. We went,it was really great.He was super nice to us.

Love Band of gypsies

@68degreesorless - I agree
Jimi played with such amazing musicians that never got the recognition they should have deserved.
Cough, Mitch Mitchell
-
@Bridger yeah the bass grooves are irresistible. Buddy miles is no slouch either. Dem changes is a great song.

@Bridger I think Mitch Mitchell is pretty well respected amongst drummers. Jimi Hendrix would have to be my single all time favorite musician. Was fortunate to have seen him three times. The first at the Hunter College auditorium,the Fillmore East show,and what might possibly have been his last show at Madison Square garden. All with Mitch Mitchell,as I wasn't a fan of the Band of Gypsies. Last but not least,years later,I would meet Mitch Mitchell at Manny's Music store. Upon realizing that he was standing next to me,I turned to talk to him,putting the $90 I had in my hand,on the counter,when I turned back the money was gone. One of those happy/sad moments.
