@seawolf I sure did…
When I received my first medal, the second class made sure that it would never fall off. He put the ribbon on my shirt sans frogs and gave it a good tap to make sure it was properly embedded…
Then there was the time I made Petty Officer…my arm was black for a week.
Don’t know if those traditions still exist though.

Didn’t take long to find a home….

@goosehd They exist, but only behind closed doors with only the most trusted shipmates. It's absolutely hazing and can land you in a lot of trouble, but it definitely still happens. I remember seeing that sort of thing happening in my early days, but as I earned more seniority, either it wasn't happening anymore, or the more junior personnel were hiding it from me.

@labrat your shirt pimpage is ace
great job and lots of credit to your endurance and patience…i could never do a full shirt!

@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot oooh niiiiice! Expecting you to flaunt the blingage on the new cardigan when you get a chance. Also, when did you get the safety pin? Goodart currently has them available for purchase with a beanie (2ish inches) or with a charm. The safety pin w/a charm is about half the size of yours. Ended up splurging on the safety pin with the rosette charm
It’s, about half the size of yours but should be perfect for what I plan to do with it.

@RoxRocks86 Champ! Looking forward to seeing how Rox rocks it
It was actually a more recent purchase from Roden Gray in Vancouver. I’ve bought a few Good Art pins from them over the years, and I swear this safety pin was long gone from their site. One day it was just back (and the rosette burst one I wasn’t keen on was gone). I emailed asking for dimensions because I wanted to compare size/price to the current offerings, then about 5 minutes later I just checked out.
Dude’s hand is most certainly bigger than my tiny paws, so exact dims didn’t really matter….

@Sir_Cuffs-a-Lot these are so killer, they remind me of the giant apron safety pins at in-n-out burger! I always wondered if that’s where Josh got the inspiration for these larger ones…
