Has anyone had quality issues w/ Alden? I bought a pair of 405's about 3 weeks ago and the stitching is coming undone.

Just read the whole thread and very disappointing to hear about G's experience. I think that left a permanent smudge on the brand for me. Still think they make stunning quality shoe but they have obviously forgot how to treat customers.
On a side note somewhere in amongst the discussion here someone post the only real way to really QC shoes it to randomly pick from the bunch and slice though them. I agree that's exactly what I do

that dude at Leffot is cool as hell & did a great job sizing me up & getting me in my pair. Thankfully I haven't had any issues with my pair & will keep all up to date on their evolution.
current pic just because . . .
more pics & less fluff

Did any of you take a gander at the Milkman Boot that was being offered by Blackbird? I'm trying to decide–once (if) they restock--between those and these Tankers as my second and last pair of boots: http://www.contextclothing.com/item.php?id=2244
They'd be used for everyday wear and I'd also like to be able to make the transition into semi-formal occasions.

I really wanted those Blackbird milkman boots, but they ran out of my size just when I got the courage up to purchase them. Those boots at Context look great, but $717 has me scared off. It seems like the price for a cordovan boot went up from 650 to over 700 in less than a year. I ended up buying the calf Epaulet Brixton boot instead.
