@Oaktavia fuck yeah. I've been to some great shows at the Fillmore
-
YESSS fuckin ELDER coming to ottobar. got my tickeys. lets gooooo
@popvulture you said you liked Elder, right?
Priced super good, i had to do it. Always liked Ottobar, good vibe, nice tight venue, their sound is going to blow the lid off that joint.
-
@WhiskeySandwich Nice, speaking of nice venues. I think I have seen more shows at the Ottobar than any others. Good times there for sure. I think Acid Mothers Temple was one of the best ones, next to the Melvins I saw there.
-
@Oaktavia yea, its def up there for me too. That and Black Cat in DC, of course 930 Club, Fillmore, and Powerplant are all regulars. Last couple shows i went to on the Pier in Bmore sucked tho. Pier6 is it? sound quality was garbage and the venue had a hard cutoff time and booted Coheed off the stage mid song. been a hot minute since i've been to a show tho. I think Circa Survive at Powerplant was my last show...
-
@WhiskeySandwich man I would love to see Coheed. Rams head is pretty nice FWIW too, I saw The Mars Volta there a couple of times.
-
@WhiskeySandwich nice! I'm gonna have to see if/when they're playing Austin. Probably are. I love the Ottobar though, envious of that one! Also loved the old location when it was in that tiny spot downtown. Later became the Talking Head I think? My old band played the spot in that iteration, whatever the name was.

No Austin. Lame as fuck.
-
@Oaktavia coheed is amazing live, seen them like 6 times lol
-
@popvulture boooooo
-
@Oaktavia that’s the one I was thinking of- rams head. And I woulda love to see the Volta

@Matt I've been listening to Blood Incantation a bit recently, partly inspired by this and the following posts but also because I wanted to know what all the fuss is about. Listened to one of their previous albums and wasn't impressed. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood. The death metal elements are pretty good but nothing really special imo, probably because my first thought was Morbid Angel, who I never got. The more psychedelic spaced-out parts I actually really like. Will give this and their previous albums a few more spins, maybe they'll convince me after all

@Mizmazzle awesome! I'm still listening to this loads, definitely in my top 3 this year.

for @steelworker
and I guess for @sabergirl , too. -
@tody Very good. The overall sound reminded me of the Dropkick Murphy’s

@IrishHeart The singer was active in Born to Lose before, and now fronts Generation Exit.
With Nowherebound, it's the acoustic parts that give you the DKM vibes I'd say, but I guess also his rough voice.
