Iron Heart X Simmons Bilt Horsehide Western Shirt - The Pale Rider - Natural
-
My experience with natural leather like this shirt is that permanent darkening/staining is inevitable on contact areas (collar, cuff, placket…). For cleaning, I would use Lexol cleaner followed by Lexol conditioner. This would help to keep it clean, remove salt and dirt, but I’d not expect it to remove the discoloration. The Lexol product will normally not darken the leather post-treatment. Initially, it will darken from the moisture of the product, but will return to pre-treatment shades (30 mins).
I am using Pecard’s Antique for softening, conditioning and achieving darker hues. Probably annually, or as the leather needs it. Don’t want to over do this. Can weight the jacket down, and too much can harm the leather fibers. YMMV.
I am of the school of “I am impatient for it to darken and patina”. LOL. -
So, this like a leather jacket is not a candidate for the washing machine? Correct? Excuse me for my stupid question!
-
@the246guy I personally wouldn’t do that.
-
@the246guy wipe down the collar every few months with damp rag. After apply conditioner if you're wearing and or sweating a lot. The lexol cleaner is good call too if it's like extreme wearing or maybe just once a year kind of thing.
-
If it starts to stink after a few months, how do you care for it then? Excuse me again for another stupid question.
-
@Giles any 4xl’s in there??
-
@Vaperfavour1313 You will have to check with the IH Crew as Giles is currently in Madagascar.

Ok, looks like the measurements are a bit more generous compared to the last run. Based on the old measurements, I would be an M, but on the updated measurements, I'm in between sizes. What do you do when your actual measurements on some areas are in-between an S and an M. If it were an UHF, I would pick an M, but how about on this?
-
@the246guy Leather will give more than a UHF, and won't shrink (as you don't wash it)..
-
Same for me, directly between XL and XXL in the crucial (for me) P2P measurement.
-
So, I go with a Small. Correct?
-
@the246guy Find your best shirt that fits exactly like you want it to. Measure it like this.
Compare the measurements of your favourite shirt to the ones listed in the product chart.
Decide on which measurements are important to you, decide on which one is closet to your favourite shirt, and if in doubt put a note to the IH Crew upon purchase with any concerns you may have regarding specific measurements you are looking for. There are often slight variations in measurements between shirts and they may be able to find exactly what your are looking for.

@goosehd I have seen that "How to Measure" video many times, but my question was if you are in between sizes in your UHF, then I know the answer, but how does this compare to this leather shirt if I'm in between sizes. I have measured my best fitting UHF and the exact measurements actually lie between an S and an M on this one here!
