IHJ-507-SLB - 16oz Slubby Selvedge Denim Type II Jacket - Indigo
-
I soaked the jacket in a utility sink and used a horsehair brush to scrub the super dirty areas like the cuffs and sleeves. From there, I let it soak in hot steamy water to help loosen up the filth. I usually do not do this, but there was a lot of brown crud on the jacket and I wanted to be sure it was gone before the machine took over. The water was super dark brown and indigo, darker than I have ever seen before when soaking so it definitely made a difference.
From the machine wash on "sanitize" which is the hottest setting, I opted for no spin and drip dried it outside. Checking it out this morning, I was surprised it was mostly dried. The jacket lost a lot of dirt, as I was expecting, an the fades are showing much more than before. I will take photos this week to show the before and after shots. Pretty happy I waited this long (90 wears) to wash it.

@Oaktavia got me pondering what item I need the slubby denim in now. Has the shorter body bothered you at all on the type 2? Or the lack of hand warmer pockets?
-
@Oaktavia I may give this one a go then.. did you go with your usual shirt size? My usual XXL is sold out but the dimensions on the XXXL don’t look too far off workable

Chipping in here. Body length bothers me not a jot, and I prefer the size and the placement of the chest pockets over a Type III. Don't really miss the hand warmers either....

@Giles thank you for the input. Do you wear a type II in this denim? Would love to see some pics? The dims for a XXXL are almost identical to my XXL corduroy type III and my wife loves that so it’s her fault if I order this right?
