IH-634S - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
Definately the upper, any idea how much stretch I can expect and fi they are spot on for size, or if they are bigger than 36 as standard.
-
Standard advice:
Take your favorite fitting pair of jeans, measure according to the methods shown on the "How We Measure" thread, check the sizing numbers for both the 36 and 38 and purchase accordingly. Keep in mind that the 21oz denim does stretch, so with some wear, they will loosen up a bit. -

Hey, I measure the same as you, I have the 634's in a 36 and Raw Busters in a 38. The 36 definitely fit better in a traditional sense, but I dig the slight sag on the Busters. In other words, go for a 36.

thanks guys, just wanted to get some confidence before ordering.

Sorry, I got the wrong impression from your posts. Like Seul and Megatron said, go with the 36, you should have enough stretch from them to fit really well.

36 dude, should be fine. Don't shit yourself if they are tight in the waist when they arrive, they will be fine (unless they are crazy tight). However, if they are very tight in the thigh come back here and post for more advice (while the jeans are still returnable for a larger size).

To me, the combs always look worse after wash, every thing else looks better
agreed! But I think it'll fade nicer after the first wash?
and I feel the 634S being soft due to them sanforised, they seem to have lesser strong contrast fade like the 666S which is raw and slubby. maybe I'm wrong but this is what I noticed for mine….

The 21oz selvage denim is made with extra long staple (fibre) cotton, this allows us to spin the yarn at low tension without it coming apart. End result is we can get a super soft but super heavy denim when it is woven. This results is fantastically comfortable jeans, the flip side is that creases do not form so readily, hence the relatively low contrast fade on these jeans….

super soft but super heavy denim … relatively low contrast fade
Totally worthwhile tradeoff.
