Hello Forum!
I am new to the Iron Heart community and am curious about the 634s .
I am a bigger guy and am looking into purchasing these great looking jeans but am curious about the fit.
Do the 634s fit closely to 501s? These are the best fit on me so far.
I am a 42 x 32 usually. and my levis have stretched to around a 43.5 ish. I want the jeans to not look too baggy and have a good fit. Thanks for any and all imput.Mike
hi mike,
i think the best you can do is to measure the levis jeans you own/wear right now, by following these instructions: http://www.ironheart.co.uk/how_we_measure.htmlafter that you just have to compare the sizes you´ve measured (from your levis) with the ones from the IH-634s (check "Sizing" here: http://www.ironheart.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=23 ) and then you should be good to go

I would guess the 1955 would fit more like the current 501 STF's. ???

You probably can't compare a 42W fit to my 32W fit, but I can give you my observations from wearing 634s for a few days. Sizing down one to 31W resulted in a very tight fit. I struggled mightily with the last button at first, but it's starting to loosen up already. It's still going to be a tight fit for some time and will likely remain fairly tight for as long as I own them.
As far as the rest of the fit, the jeans ride fairly high on the waist and is fairly tight in the crotch for now. I have a 32in inseam and had the jeans hemmed to 33in. This in retrospect is a little too short and I probably would have gone down to just 33.5in or kept them at 34in. The thickness of the denim means that every slight fold shortens the inseam more than usual. Eventually I'll have to wear my pair uncuffed or with minimal cuffs…or sag them a little bit.
634s generally won't be baggy worn true to size and definitely wont sized down 1.

42's are probably the best best. The 42's will easily stretch to 43.5 maybe more. They'll definitely have less taper in the legs than 501's. The 1955's might be a better option and they have more room in the thighs, and taper more than 634's.

i would just like to state that i measured my 634s today. they are tagged 29 and they measured 32!!!!! WOW.
-
Have you blown out the crotch at all?
That is crazy!
-
nope the crotch is still going strong. i had em "repaired" at self edge with the darning machine but it was more preventative maintenance than repair though.
-
Mine are being reinforced as I type preventative maintenance is the way to go.
-
Preventative maintenance is definitely the way to go. I did that with my 07's and it made a huge difference. They need it again (over 18 months in now), but I was waiting for another pair before I send em out.

Once I wear through what I have, I'm going to get on a steady diet of 634s.
Good call. There is a reason they were the first and Haraki's favorite. I had mine on last night when I got home and the denim feels like butter. So soft and comfortable to lounge in. I was also thinking about Cosmo and his purchase of 10 pairs of these at once. Something I admire about that!

Exactly. He knows what he wants and likes, so why not stock up for the foreseeable future?(Depending on how he wears his jeans.)

4 months solid wear, one wash…nothing spectacular happening here really, but thought I would contribute.
