IH-777S-UHR - 21/23oz Ultra Heavy Raw Selvedge Denim Slim Tapered Cut Jeans
-
giving this thread a little love in comparison to the 666 uhr thread and comparing the UHR numbers between 666 and 777 these look more similar than different.
Given that I only have 666's I've been wondering about trying another cut. I know 634s, 888s, and NO-LOTs don't fit me well and I'm fairly certain 555's are too slim in the knee/leg for my taste.
If I'm 100% certain the new 666 UHRs would work for me given their dimensions, should I stay with them or take a gamble on these? Could I fit a pair of engineer or smokejumper style boots on under the hem? And I had sort of just gotten used to the idea of only wearing straight legs for now on…
666 vs 777 in 34 compared below.

Am going for 666, I have the old 777 UHR… can be very uncomfortable in the waist due being low.
666 are the most comfortable jeans the devil fits.
555 nah I pass with that very uncomfortable for me to bend my leg up.
After soak and wash they will tight up more

and that right there is my main hesitation on 777s. The rise here looks a little higher tho to where differences are within what I've seen due to normal build variability. At least we have both sets arriving at the same time to make an easier decision.

Go back to what our IH guys always recommend - compare what you are used to wearing vs what these measurements are and start there.
If you don't know what fit is for you yet, then measurements help, but nothing compares to owning them and living in them for a bit. And if that makes you pause because of the investment, then perhaps go to the buying / selling section and look for a used pair so you can figure it out at a lower $$$ point?
But what Kasi said, was based his preference, based on his body and where he is used to wearing jeans on his waist. We can't tell you what's too low of a RR or what's to high.

I’ll try to get some some before and after soak measurements up, if I get around to soaking today. I was thinking about doing the old wear and soak but now I may have too busy of a day
Either way I’d love to see some before and after measurements. The fabric is so nice! Such a deep indigo going on. Loving it! Thanks crew!

Well, curiosity finally killed this cat. I'm looking forward to seeing if these live up to the hype (I'm sure they will).
In the past six months, I've gone from "I didn't like my last pair of XHS, they didn't breathe well enough" to buying two pairs XHS, a pair of UHRs, and a pair of 19Ls for good measure. Funny how the body can adapt when given the right incentive (very well-made and well-fading jeans, in this case).
I'm going to have some very warm legs this winter.
