Y’2 Leathers….

almost all horse hide jackets look a little strange/ bulky when brand new . they will mould with wear and time.
But I agree with Tody that the sleeves look too short , you have to keep in mind that they will get a good amount shorter when worn in and the typical rolls/creases form .
take a picture without a shirt , easier to see the actual length. -
@FlavourFade For me size is perfect, shoulders looks good. And seems like the sleeves are long enough, on your photos they already seems to be rolled a little, so it will be probably perfect.
-
@Daniel-San @Neru-6 thanks again friends! Took some more shots. What do you think? (Yes I have to clean the mirror )
-
@FlavourFade For me size is perfect. It seems you'll have also extra room for a flannel shirt underneath. Nice catch.
-
@FlavourFade yeah man! I think you’ve got the size dialed!! That range of motion being tight that you mentioned can be par for the course with heavy leather jackets. HH is thick so it can be snug, especially over a shirt like an IH shirt which is also pretty thick generally.
My Bareback Horse hide leather jacket feels like that too. Over a tee shirt or light thermal it feels perfect. But if I wear a shirt like a 62 Wabash I have to deal with a bit of Frankenstein like stiffness with movement to maintain a slim looking jacket.
With my split steer type three, it’s a bit oversized. So I can wear it really comfortably with thicker IH shirts. But over a tee it’s a bit on the baggy side. But the split steer is really pliable and easy to move in compared to a more traditional horse hide like yours.
I personally don’t think the sleeves look too short when worn over a tee shirt. When worn over a heavier shirt the sleeves do come up a bit more. Like others have said the creases will bring the sleeves up some. But I think you’ll still be at a good length even once creases set. @Daniel-San does have a lot of experience with HH leather jackets I’d trust his expertise. My experience was the sleeves came up but only about 1/2 inch. Which I think you’d be fine losing a 1/2 inch.

@FlavourFade
better pics
I would say size is good ! And sleeve length too !
as mentioned before it will start to mould with wear . -
@FlavourFade I think the fit is good. Do you have a back view of this jacket?
-
@FlavourFade yeah man, looks great! Shoulders will soften up nicely after around 20-30ish wears
-
@twin not yet will try to do tomorrow with better lighting.
Thanks to you guys. It's impossible to predict if a purchase in this pricerange will satisfy somebody in the long run but I wanted to have a nice leather jacket again and I am pretty positive that I'll keep the Y'2. Have another jacket ordered to try on (Vanson) but I think it's hard to beat the HH

@FlavourFade
If you not made a decision yet , I would recommend a Type 1 or Type 2 from Y2 ! Maybe a little more expensive but I think they’ll look better on you. But that’s of course my taste. -
@Daniel-San why would the type 2/1 look better? I already tried one on couple years ago but thought it was a little too short for my taste back then
-
@FlavourFade
as I said , just my taste
I find the single riders in general not very special. And if , only with a collar .
But again that’s my taste.
at this price range it should be perfect and you should be 100% happy -
@Mizmazzle thanks buddy!! I think sizing wise this one is inbetween your jackets. It's roomy enough to wear my shirts under it and still be able to move around but with only a tee I like the look as well. I am not a big fan of too tailored looks because I have bulky shoulders and arms and also a weirdly big chest so that's probably the right size for me.
@Daniel-San to me personally a jacket for about 1000€ is already special enoug also I already have a type 3 that I wear a lot and like to have a little variety since my limit for jackets in that pricerange is one. Okay I also have the IH mountain parka but that's funcional wear. For now I am very happy with the jacket but I like to get some opinions from the crowd expertise
-
@FlavourFade I think the fit is on point. Sounds like you like the fit too.
As for the style, that’s 100% subjective and up to your own tastes.
I’m with Daniel in that I prefer a collar personally. -
@flavourfade the fit looks pretty spot on to me - y2 jackets start off a little bulky and boxy, but soften up quite a bit with wear and will shape and fit to your body a lot better with time. So as long as it feels ok now it should be fine.
-
@Darth-fader thanks! I already look forward to breaking it in.
On request by @twin I did two pictures from the back. Zipped and unzipped. But I am pretty positive on keeping it
-
@FlavourFade Looks good to me. Keep it.
-
@FlavourFade I think it looks great. Bonus that you can wear it both with a hoodie underneath and a tee, and neither looks too small or too big. A Goldilocks situation, rest easy.

Thanks a lot! It's a pleasure to wear this jacket:-)
