IH-634S-A - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans (20th Anniversary Edition)
It has been 20 years since the inception of Iron Heart, and to celebrate this milestone we are taking things back to where it all started, with a limited run of Haraki san’s first Iron Heart jean design, the 634 - our classic straight cut. A little-known fact is that Haraki san came up with the name Iron Heart for his new brand whilst standing in the bathroom after a few beers with friends, discussing his vision for the future.
This 20th anniversary edition features many of the same details found on our standard model but with several special features. They are, of course, constructed from our signature 21oz selvedge indigo denim, but the arcuates on the rear pockets of each pair of jeans have been individually chain stitch embroidered with gold thread, a very time-consuming process carried out by the very talented Hayakawa san. We have also switched out the cowhide back patch for a black cordovan horsehide leather version, which has been hand embossed with a custom 20th-anniversary design by Hirao san of Wedge Leathers who produce Iron Heart’s leather goods. The left front pocket bag has been two-colour screen-printed with a special anniversary design. And if this was not enough, the lot number and size has been stamped onto the patch by Haraki san himself.

Saw these in person today. So many great details. The chain stitch arc is super cool, and the patch is awesome. Had never tried on a 634, I didn't know a straight cut could so comfortable. Get them.

Hmm. Always been a 555 man but may give these a go….They look smashing.

Be prepared for some “hem shock” but also for the most comfortable fitting IronHearts ever. Love the 634 cut.

Maybe my first 634 ever.. cool piece!

I’m probably rotating too many pairs —including some IH-888 19 Lefty— but I too think I can’t miss my first 634s chance ::)

I think he is probably referring to hem width, specially if you are use to wear cuts with norrow hem measurements. I maybe wrong though.

“hem shock?”
What do you mean by "hem shock?"
Thought it was just me…I had rather thought a reference to the width of the hem but it was a guess…
-
Exactly. If you are coming from a 555 cut the difference is really becomes apparent at the knee. There is a good 2 inches difference in knee circumference between the 2 cuts and maybe more.

You nailed it and I feel it every time I go from my NOLOT to my Okinawas or 634.

Ahh I see: thanks. Think I will give them a go.

biggest thing I've found when switching from super slim to straight cut or loose fit, I have to have my loose fitting jeans closer to my proper inseam. I can keep slim ones at a 34-36 inseam and have like 3 cuffs and be good, but my 634s I have hemmed closer to a 30 and just do one small cuff. otherwise the cuff is too thick and bulky looking. to me, at least.

@Chesson do you know if the back pockets are lined or not?
