IHSB-BIGBUCK-OLV - Deerskin Western Shirt The Big Buck - Olive

Could stare at these pictures all day!
I dream of the day these are within my budget.
I do think I'd more likely to justify the purchase though, if they were CPO style with hand warmer pockets. I'd be more likely to be able to do the mental gymnastics required to justify the price tag for a jacket as opposed to a 'just a shirt'...

This was the only thing that stopped me pulling the trigger on a Pale Rider, just some customer feedback

But what a shirt! Think how long this will last you, and that it will look better and better the more you wear it and the more it ages. Plus it's not really something you see a lot of other people wearing around.
Not that I'm trying to convince anyone.
-
@SilverKast I was in awe at how Haraki's had aged in the BLK thread... closest I could ever imagine to a leather aging like denim... the paint/dye seems to wear away with such grace...
-
expensive year for me between pale rider and this… hard to pick olive or black. Guess olive won
-
My thoughts exactly. This and the Pale Rider are too good! (but very expensive)
-
I went with black, but maybe down the road I'll go with the olive if the black ages like I'm hoping it will.
-
@marco23d hot as balls out there but mind teasing us w another pic???
-
@flannel-slut it is very hot here haha so have been in t shirts and shorts for a while. Here are some pictures that I took. Maybe when it cools off at night I’ll snap an outfit picture. I will say you will not regret this shirt if anyone is considering between this or the black one. Don’t think I’ve ever been complimented on a piece of clothing more than this shirt. It has a way of perfectly draping on to your body.

Beauty and those combs 🥵
-
Some terrible photos of this absolute beauty!
Never felt any material as soft as this before, wow.
Downside is that the shoulders are too narrow and no XL left
-
Hey guys, I'm really considering this but, I have to ask...can I get this thing wet? I can't imagine wearing this out in a rainstorm, but if I'm wearing it and it starts raining, do I need to hide it under my shirt?
And I think I saw that @goosehd hand-washed his without issue, which brings up that question: how are you supposed to clean this? I guarantee I'll stink it up in time.
-
@Paul9221 Hand wash with extreme care and I can’t emphasize this enough!!! If you have ever dried a car with a chamois you will know exactly what I am trying to emphasize.
The shirt is one big, extremely soft, and extremely stretchy material that can be distorted easily. You have to use common sense and care when washing this material.
I hand wash mine and ensure I don’t squeeze, stretch, or dry the material in any way that will distort the shape of the shirt.
It takes a day or two to dry from wash and I do it in ways to ensure that I don’t stretch it out of shape. I also wore it slightly damp to get a custom fit that I haven’t been able to duplicate in any other Iron Heart Shirt.
Hand’s down, this is my favourite shirt from IH and I have quite a few. Do I recommend it, yes, but with a few caveats.
- Buy it, wear it, don’t give a fuck, and see where the results will take you, or
- Buy it, wear it, try to take care of it, and the rewards will exceed your expectations!
Either way, I don’t know how you could lose!
-
@goosehd good advice, man! Thanks!
How about the rain question? If you wore it to a restaurant, and when you came out it was raining and you were without an umbrella, would you wear it in the rain or is that going to mess it up? Based on your gentle washing instructions, part of me thinks it might be totally fine, another part that it might stretch in weird ways after getting wet.

@T4920 I am with you on this one. I have been enquiring about a CPO version of the hide shirts for a while now and was even prepared to go full custom to get this feature. Alas the feedback from Simmons Built was that the CPO pockets were not possible to manufacture on these hide shirts.
It is the one thing that has stopped me from buying a hide shirt. The CPO's I have are so useful that it would be very difficult for me to pay for a hide shirt without the side pockets.
Of course there are other choices and I guess the hide Type III's are the next port of call.

Did it! I’ve almost bought this 7 times in the last two days
Kept checking, halfway hoping it was sold out each time. Then saw it was gone in my size in the black version and took it as a sign to grab the olive one!!!
Something to look forward to, when I come home from vacation this week. -
Yeah, you are going to love this shirt. I got the olive one last week and as soon as I did I knew I needed the black one also. So I grabbed it yesterday. Hurt the wallet but wtf…
These are so crazy soft and all around amazing stuff. Completely different than the pale rider.
