@GraemeE This is kind of like one degree of separation. Genya Ravan(Former lead singer with a band called Ten Wheel Drive)had signed a production deal with Media Sound Studios in NYC. It was her job to go out and find new bands and bring them to the studio and produce demos for them with the agreement that if they got signed as a result of those demos they’d record their album at the studio. An engineer there said I saw this band Sorrows at CBGBs you should check them out. Fast forward…She’s late getting to a session,she comes in all out of breath and excited because she had just been singing back up vocals on a song for Lou Reeds new album. And she thought it was the craziest/funniest thing that he had them sing…And the colored girls go. Do Da Do etc. etc. Had no idea as to what she was talking about and then the song comes out. We did get signed as a result of those demos,and recorded our first album at that studio. She didn’t produce our album,but she did produce The Dead Boys Young,Loud,and Snotty.

@Brian when they happen, those connections to our parent’s youth before we were around can reshape our opinions of them - or at least help to see them in a new light.

@Inorganic
We always had records playing growing up singles or lps
It’s what made my love of music really even if my taste didn’t align with my parents taste
