No City fans in the household… The United fan was half watching Shakhtar Donetsk piddle all over his team. At least from the 2nd half that I saw. And no, he didn't seem to be enjoying it.
As a Stoke fan... Well I'll just leave it there... Nice to see we're starting the battle for relegation early this Season
-
Probably not a good time to mention that i'm a Norwich City fan then MP…..although we'll no doubt be battling it out at the bottom of the table come May.
-
Hah!! I'm sure we'll keep a spot open
-
Nice one Bullitt. Looks like quite an atmosphere was being created.
-
Can we get some life in this thread please?
England are going to Brazil - yesssssss!!!!!
My team are going to get humped by the hated scousers at the weekend - nooooooo !!!!

Yeah, that was big! But, to be honest, we're playing the first time international since 2001. So everyone is very motivated because it's something special. I think it's much different if your club is playing in europe every season.
I was for the first time at a football game in England (Wales, to be exact), the crowd on the terraces is very different to Switzerland and other countries i was at the games (Italy, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Poland, Austria). It's like they're not used to hear singing and shouts for the whole game. No one sits on the chairs. I blame that one on Maggie Thatcher, high ticket prices and very high fines for small things
And if you smoke a cigarette, they want to kick you out of the stadium… -

And if you smoke a cigarette, they want to kick you out of the stadium…Couldn't agree more. I often accompany a friend to the Emirates (despite being a Norwich City fan) and am always shocked at how quiet it is for a 60K capacity stadium. Although Stamford Bridge was even quieter when I went there last season; it was actually quite amazing how so many people in a space that size could make so little noise! I've been to a few games in São Paulo (at the Morumbi and Pacaembu stadiums) and the constant dancing, singing drumming etc was quite something to behold.
Hope you're enjoying being back in European competition again, despite the loss in Swansea. Hopefully you can give Valencia a beating away from home in your next fixture.
-
Oh and i'm about as positive as Mega regarding our game tomorrow. Reckon it'll be karma for me dissing the lack of noise at the Emirates.

That's what i heard from some grundhopping friends too.
Sao Paulo is definately an other level than everything in western Europe, i'm jealous! One day, I want to watch a Superclassico at the Bombonera. Thanks for you're wishes for our Valencia game. To be realistic, they're 2 numbers to big for St.Gallen. But in a Cup Game, everything is possible.
This saturday we play Basel away in a league game. It's gonna be a tough one too. -

Guilty, tried to give it up many times but your team is something you're born with and die with.

Indeed - fully expecting a stuffing on Saturday. Their forwards will be too much for us and doesn't help that Colo's out
At least following England has been better recently - usually they're just the national version of Nufc; a constant rollercoaster ride of disappointment…

Respect for all the stadiums with high level atmosphere, singing and waving flags.
But you can find my IHSH here. The stand holds 28,000 in a BVB league match as it's safe terracing.
-
Wow, that's a big block of fans! Great noise.
-
WF - Are you in the Toon? I don't get up very often these days, and thanks to Fat Mike I'm stuffed for away games. Never thought I'd miss Freddy Sheperd.

No, not in the Toon any more - moved to London about 8 years ago for work. Had a season ticket though when I used to live up there. Most of the guys I went to the match with no longer have season tickets because they're fed up of FMA. I get a few games in down here - mostly sat in the home end though. Never really had a problem - was sat in the City end last season though for City vs Toon and it did get a bit hairy at one point. No fisticuffs though.
-
Not as bad a result as you expected today Mega, especially with 10 men for a fair ol' spell. Just as bad as I expected for the Canaries…
-
i was pleasantly shocked, I now fully expect to be humped in the derby next week
-
Mega…? Where are you after that great result at the weekend!?
