A clean sheet in the home leg for Atleti, hopefully they'll seal it up next week. They were clinging on at times though…
-
all city needs is an away goal. a draw for them at the bernabeau should do it..

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM

@Giles thank you… an absolutely surreal few hours, few weeks, months to be honest... none of this was even something I could have dreamed of back in the day going to Filbert Street. To see our name all over the global media, even the front page of the NY Times last week. Just beyond!!

Congratulations to Leicester City, thoroughly deserved.

i swore nobody expected that at the start of the season. those who place bets initially were probably doing it just for the fun. they definitely deserved this and so do ranieri. he always came so close but never won. that said, any one up for leicester winning the UCL next year?

Bliss! Bloody Bayern are out. Sometimes my wishes are granted. Heartfelt congrats to Atlético, you guys made my day!

Last night was a bit depressing (right @Megatron1505 ?) as Norwich finally decided to play with a bit of freedom and scored 4 goals (and let in 2) but were still relegated. A terrible run of form at just the wrong time meant we were doomed a good 4 or 5 games ago really. Fair play to Sunderland though (Mega won't concur with this!) but they found exactly the right form at the right time.
Admittedly I briefly felt like rolling around on the ground crying but then remembered that it's an all Madrid Champions League final so would get to 'enjoy' plenty of that sort of behaviour then instead.

I've been resigned to relegation since Christmas @Winchy . Steve McClaren was always going to be the suicide pill for Newcastle United, but the owner and chairman helped along the way.
Spending £80m on unproven youngsters and putting a dinosaur in charge was a recipe for disaster, and the chairman left it far too late to rectify his mistake.
I'm not even sure we'll be back this time either, like all things associated with the club it will depend solely on the will of one bitter, destructive, childish billionaire.

I was listening to the 606 phone-in show after full time last night and that mirrors what most of the Newcastle fans were saying/feeling…ambivalence with a little frustration but no shock or surprise at it happening at all. One sports reporter from the local BBC station got very emotional and outspoken about what was and has been done to the club.
I guess I have it easy as Norwich are just shit.

It's never easy to get relegated man, and Norwich are a great club, a proper family club. I think that the ambivalence from our fans just comes from 9 years of Mike Ashley and his false dawns and empty words, he spends on players then employs the cheapest possible options to manage them, and has a policy of only buying young players of "potential".
We should have an away day meet up at Carrow Road or St James' next season
