i've been. definitely pretty awesome, but there are also so many great vintage shops in nyc that it feels weird to buy RRL stuff for full price that you could probably wait and find in an outlet somewhere.
-
When it's on sale, you really can't do better for the money… and it's usually gonna go on sale.
-
exactly! I got the jeans in that pic at marshalls for $25
-
i just get lucky. the stuff is all out there, you just gotta go dig it up!
-
RRL has so much stuff….some of you guys have to have some of it! lets see some pics!
-
does anyone know who is making the current RRL engineer boots? I know julian used to but not sure who is contracted now and looking to pick up a pair of nice RC style engineers. Thanks in advance

Maybe this helps you a bit Tat my man

Yeah I had read that earlier but it does not state who actually built the new 2013 engineers … Was just curious if anyone knew
-
Google tells me that they are made by Rios of Mercedes, which would make sense, given that Rios made a couple of models for RRL previously.

Found a pair of Julian RRL on eBay and pulled the trigger.. $150 lower than retail and went TTS.. Did some reading and it suggested these run narrow so that was the way to go 14 days to return and they have a 12 available too but I I think a whole size down would be way too much even with my narrow foot my toes would be crammed in the end. Will post pics when they arrive.

Man.. This is not my week… My rrl Julian engineer off eBay came today.. Yep they're new, unfortunately I believe they have been sitting in a a horrible environment for god knows how long and are so dry there are crack through the leather on the back of one of the boot loops and they look more brittle than a 150 year old woman. Haven't heard back from seller so have filed a dispute just in case.
My week= winning

Honestly they are trash I think. I do not believe there is any salvation and like I said the pull loop on the back of the boot has completely split in half… If there is hope...I'm guessing its more work than I am willing to put into these I've never seen leather so crispy fried.
-
Ill try to grab some before I ship them back tomorrow. Trying to get this resolved at the moment he's asking me to send then back to a P O box… I've akways returned sig confirmation tracking number and don't feel comfortable sending these back without proof of delivery... They honestly don't look bad except the torn belt pull loop but the feel of the leatger is dry enough to make your skin crawl.

Yeah, once the leather fibers dry enough that they begin to break apart, there's not much you can do. Moisturizing products preserve, they can't undo damage that's already there. All you'll be able to do is keep them from disintegrating any further.
