Oh, we're talking new tackle are we. Just bought one of these (in Japan for about 1/2 western price), the S86XX Longcast.

I am absolutely fascinated with the RG Guide System, and can't wait to give it a go...

Bonito - Are usually a bycatch when I am fishing for bigger stuff. But on the right tackle, they are a lot of fun, and they are as powerful as hell…..

@Giles sent me this picture the other day of an FG fishing knot. In my eyes it looks damn good and something that I will start practicing for joining leaders to braid.

Thank you. Could be better. A few too many wraps, the braid is better when it has "melted" into the fluoro for the whole length of the knot....

BUT, we did see 2 groups of Humpback Whales between dives. Mum and calf, then later mum, pop and calf....

Not sure, I don't think Barracuda. Both were hit on the drop, which to me does not smack of Cuda......

Skipped work early to go fishing with Jacob
Both managed grab a catch before we had to head home

Must do it more often 8 year olds patience however may need a spinning rod
