IHJ-143-IND - 12oz Kersey Work Jacket - Indigo/Black
-
It was the cuff buttons on this one that kept bringing me back for another look. I repeatedly told myself “you’re an asshole” if I bought a jacket I absolutely do not need because of a couple buttons on a zip up and held off. Not sure if I’m proud of myself or not
-
Here’s a few fit pics of mine. Love it so far but it’s definitely the shortest jacket I own. Perfect summer jacket and I agree with @Nostradamion in that it can be dressed up and it goes well with shorts too.
-
@flannel-slut I used the same logic and was still going to pull the trigger but the lack of the two way zipper was what finally discouraged me.
-
@John-Galt I overlooked the no two way zip… such a little detail but this may actually help keep me away once the remaining stockists release theirs.
-
@flannel-slut I thought that about the 2 way zipper originally but I love the aesthetic with the bottom button done up so realised I wouldn’t be able to use it even if one was there
-
@AdamC I feel like you get some relief unbuttoning the bottom button too if you’re sitting down.
-
On such a short jacket, and the fact that the zipper doesn't go to the bottom of the jacket, I would say a two way zipper isn't really required. My IHJ-61 had a two way zipper and I never used it; that jacket was also about 2-3cm longer than this. I also think the one way zipper on a work jacket like this is more classic (if that matters to anyone else
)
-
@BalticBob did you end up getting one of these or are you still waiting on the black?
-
Using my button affection by bringing attention to the bottom button as a counter to no two way zip is very well played
-
@ZackB I tried so hard to resist, but it was futile. I gave in and went with my normal IH size in M. I'm happy with my past self for giving in now though; the more I see the jacket, the more I like it.
The black is also still on the cards for me, I love work jackets and wear them a lot and the two I currently have are a little snug. I'll look for new homes for them to try and justify new jackets to my wife (she's almost given up, but she's not quite there yet). The action back on this really appeals to me, I had this on a Freenote jacket and it made a huge difference to the mobility.
How is the mobility for you in this, does the action back make a big difference? I've stacked this jacket so I don't yet have it.
-
@BalticBob yeah I think the action pleats are huge on this jacket. Everything is perfect to me and the medium was definitely a little longer in the body than the small and xs. I almost went with a medium which is my uhf size but I wanted a summer jacket to wear over a t shirt and the small definitely fits what I was going for. And the wife likes it so we’re all good.

That's what I like to see! We'll have it on the way to you first thing in the AM.
-
@guiltyparty much appreciated!

I’m sure to the surprise of absolutely no one that I caved and put recent sale funds towards this jacket. Hard to resist a work cut jacket, let alone one that has as many subtle details as this one.
-
@flannel-slut yay! This fabric is amazing also, along with all the little details
-
@flannel-slut I'm hoping some of my sales funds come through so that I can add to your sales funds...let the circle be unbroken.
-
@ZackB you’re not kidding dude. You said it earlier too, will work both dressed up or down.
-
@Mizmazzle hahaha!! I know the circle all too well. Had a different piece in mind with those funds but you know how this place is… the pics of this jacket that came out, the dizzier I got.
-
@flannel-slut sometimes trying to have a solid game plan is futile. We run on emotion round these parts!
