Thanks Giles, I'm away at the moment at a conference but if there's any 38s left by Monday I might see if I get away in time to come by and try to pick between these and the overdyed 634s. I know what you mean about customs, I still can't believe it when I get a package in the mail from outside the EU and get hit not only with the 20% VAT, but also the handling charge for the privilege!

How much length are you likely to lose on the inseam due to shrinkage (I know they're sanforised :D) and creases? I'm sure that I read something here about losing an inch due to the latter, but can't seem to find the reference.
I think the stiffer the denim the more length you lose with creases, so with the regular 634s being quite soft it's not as marked as say the 634-XHS. I guess Giles can fill us in on how soft these are, but I haven't noticed any appreciable shortening on my 634s and I would expect these to be similar…
