IH-301S
-
My 301S arrived from Self Edge today (I live in the UK, so it was a lengthy 11 day wait!).
H E L L Y E A H . . . ! ! !
Was a bit concerned about the roomier top box (what with my current favourites being FH 2011, which are uber-tight up top), but everything seems to sit perfectly. Also, due to my own negligence, I failed to notice that there is no selvedge line down the seam, but that is one negative amongst many positives. Will post fit pics later today.

Well, after all my back and forth-ing for the past week I sold off my 301s and just ordered a size down! Should have them by Monday and will post fit pics right away as a comparison. Hopefully this will be a good tool for any others hesitant because of the sort of weird sizing with the boxy top.
While I haven't tried the 31s yet, I can say fairly confidently that in this particular cut, and with the way the denim stretches very quickly, the current production seems to run a size big (I'm a true size 33 waist, so 32 tagged jeans in most brands like Flat Head and Momotaro, LVC, etc, are always spot on for me).
Pics to come…

Spot on. You have to feel it.

Thanks guys! I'm every-day-nig it with these and after three months am going to swim in the ocean in them. Will update when I do.
Can someone explain what the fit difference is between these and the 555-01? They seem nearly identical according to the measurements. It's just a matter of the taper?

It works magic for fading. If you haven't dont it yet you should and then you'll know what I mean.

Sorry, it does nothing for fading. Wearing and washing is what causes fading. If you go into the sea with a filthy pair of jeans, then they will look cleaner and more worn and with more wear and with more contrast when you get out….But is easier (but maybe not so much fun, so), to substitute a washing machine for the ocean.....

Yikes didnt know I was stepping into a landmine. It's more of a spiritual experience for me. I was being somewhat facetious with my comment so I apologize. I didn't mean to suggest it as a universal truth. In my experience there is a perceived difference in the feel of my jeans from salt water. That's all. Nature baby!
