Hard labor does these justice
^ IH-804's do hard labor justice.
Thanks for comments. Major kudos to IH for dreaming these up.
These continue to impress me. It rained/snowed all day and they were completely saturated. They became a whole new beast when they were wet. I sat down for a 15 min break and when I went to stand up it was almost like I had 1/8" sheet metal wrapped around my legs. From now on I'll try and space out the updates to every couple of months instead of days. These are great pants. I suggest getting a pair.

I have a feeling you will get another feature in Haraki-san's blog. Waw!
-
that amount of wear you put into your work pants in such a short frame of time is incredible

Filson's sells a paraffin treatment that should work to get the waterproofing back. It is best applied melted (remove from the tin and melt in the microwave in a suitable container) and applied with a brush or cloth over the areas which have lost their waxed color–usually from abrasion. I did this to my Double Tin pants several times. The reason waxed cotton is so good is that it breathes, unlike rain gear, which just makes you sweat inside of it--you get the "hydraulic jerks" as we used to say--shivering whenever you stop working or moving for more than a minute. The trade-off is re-treatment of the fabric. The authentic logger look look is a re-treated one. See here for the product: http://www.filson.com/mens/accessories/other-accessories/-101112/?follow=no
Kybosh obviously has my vote for the IH "Working Class Hero"!Asp

Hey Cosmo, I visited the Filson site after you mentioned it for the parafin treatment product, and saw this attractive Levi's trucker jacket

Anybody out there who could tell me if this is great stuff or another Levi's disappointment? -

Anybody out there who could tell me if this is great stuff or another Levi's disappointment?i have this jacket and it is AMAZING.. i really really love it..i think the key to its greatness is the fact that it is in fact made by FILSON in Seattle , WA rather than made by LEVIS in a questionable factory in a country of questionable work standards… as for fit and style it is a pretty standard LEVIS jean jacket but it is made out of the wonderful water repellent FILSON oil cloth material with moleskin lined collar and cuffs...
fit pics soon.

I have an 086 Wool Packer Coat (in 26 oz. Scarlet–great in a blizzard or really cold weather) and a 623N Tin Jacket. The 623N has a wool collar and cuffs as the Levi collab, and is moleskin lined. It's my go-to tough and water repellent coat. I'd say the tin cloth trucker jacket looks like a winner. I'll call their custom shop to see if there's one in my future...

i have this jacket too and i like it. its not my favorite filson piece by a longshot though. if you are on the fence about buying it and want something functional instead of something that just looks cool then i suggest a tin cruiser jacket.

Inseam shorten to 29in. Bit of room in the waist and slightly tight on the thigh.
Nice. How does it feel compared to the SR's?

Stiff apple vs. a stiff orange.

Today, 1st day CNY holiday and decide to cold soak the ih804 for 15 minutes and air dry. ( note : oldish pics was just trying it out ) This is the looks after hit the water. That cloth hanger can't hold the weight after 3 minutes. It's stiff and a little bit of weight.
I am too lazy to take any measurement before soak.
