Trips and Travel

Wow what a trip! Recording legends like Sly & Robbie must be an amazing experience. Any photos available of the session? Johnny Clarke and Horace Andy are here in London next Friday, along with Jah Shaka too. I'm currently trying to rearrange plans to ensure I can go; if I make it I will post some pics.
I did not make a lot of pix because I went there alone and I had to direct the sessions. Usually, I bring along a photographer or a video man, but this time, I did not plan anything really.
Sly was his imperial self, so were all the other musicians. We had a great time, because they really really liked Serge Gainsbourg and the tunes brought a lot of nice memories for them.
Horace, Johnny and Shaka in the same gig, that should be pretty cool and mucho heavy… I produced two LP's by Horace Andy and I dont have to force myself to listen to them, unlike most of my records, which I have a hard time listening to for some reason. Click on http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=horace+andy+greycapp&aq=f to see the videos (I think there is 17 of them) of the making of Livin' it up, which I produced with Robbie and Sly in 2007. It shows how the musicians used to work live in the studio, as well as a super Gregory Isaacs song which he came to record on one of Horace's riddims during the sessions… Wicked stuff.

Oh I forgot, I recorded 2 short videos of Sly Dunbar and my friend producer Bravo bigging up the Iron Heart brand. Video quality is not too great due to poor light conditions for Sly's video, but it's cool nonetheless. I sent those to Supa Giles so he can decide what to do with them.

No worries on the pics gb it seems like you must have been plenty busy! These You Tube videos are great, loving seeing Sticky on the various percussion.
Looking forward to the two vids you shot too…..

I'm going to Kobe / Osaka, Japan at the end of July. All ye gaze upon my (lack of)plans ;):-*
For all those who have been there, had good times, and left broke but not broken, what/where are the must dos and must bes?
I haven't purchased airfare quite yet either though I'm about at the end of my rope in looking for the best flight, which I've found to cost $1000 (into Tokyo) or $1100-1200 (into Osaka, obviouisly prefered). Anybody use particularly savvy travel agents?
The Umeda District will be owned, hopefully mostly by me. Hinoya et al. will see my ugly mug and trap my tourist $$$$, but I'm wondering if the two days I spend there is enough for shopping and maybe a little sight seeing (Osaka castle??) in Japan's second largest metro? Also, food. Tell me where I should eat after doing these hot 'n' heavy (21oz!) days Japan's kitchen.
Finally, anybody been to or know anything spellbinding to do in Kobe? Planning a sake brewery stumble 'n' hop as I hear it's known for it. Should I rent a bike in either city? Help me!

I'll be making a road trip up to Asheville, NC this weekend.. Any stubborn crew wanna grab a beer?
I would except it's 5 hours from me. I think there are a few guys near Charlotte around here. Not too far from there.

Wish I could- I love Asheville. Cool town with a great laid-back vibe. Have fun, buddy.

A pic from yesterday..
Exactly why I love where I live. Can't beat the views. 3 hours one way, you're at the beach, 3 hours the other way, you're in the mountains!

Heading to San Diego Comic-Con next week, followed by a week in New York. Very little free time as it's a work trip, but I've booked an extra day in New York for sight seeing and a little shopping. Any advise for a day in NYC for someone whose never been?
