Same here. Hoping for a clean race and then the winner will be deserved World Champion

This feeling remind me of Christmas Eve when I was like 7 [emoji23] So curious to see how it plays out…I’m glad they’re on different tyre strategies…should make for an interesting race! My guess is that Max will be hunting down Lewis on fresher tyres for the last 10 or so laps but won’t be able to make the pass.

The way I see it, Lewis had 2 chances to pit, but chose track position over pitting . Well, as they say, you make your bed, now sleep in it

They were in a tough spot. I think if the roles were reversed Red Bull would have done what Mercedes did. The stewards decision was an interesting one, but as someone who isn’t a die hard fan of max or Lewis I’m glad they went this route instead of having the race end under a safety car or restarting the race without getting the lapped cars out of the way (which would have been just as unprecedented as the decision that was made). Nonetheless, it’s impossible not to feel gutted for Lewis.
-
The only other logical outcome would have been that this race was discarded because you can not let Max for a mistake the stewards make (overtaking under safety car was already off the table a while ago), which would also have resulted in Max being World champion.
I am very glad that a car with a Mercedes engine was the reason for this safety car situation though…

Hamilton complaining the safety car wasn't giving its all in the straights had me in tears…
because he expects a road going Aston Martin to be as quick as an F1 car..

Is that really so unreasonable ?

Well, in his defence, Max has been bitching about exactly the same thing all season…..

This sums up pretty well much how I feel about F1 and the FIA at the moment…..

The good thing about decision making is that it has a rule of thumb and that is that you end up where you belong after a season of whatever it is you do.
No one in the world can say that this championship is stolen because the winner is on top of pretty much every statistic from this year one could consider. And that it was done in a car that wasn’t the fastest one driven by a 24yr old should lead to nothing but appreciation.
As far as rules concern I think the sport would benefit if there would be a fixed team of stewards who do their job throughout the season and that it is transparant who they are and why they made it to the team.
I realize that decision making can be harsh and can feel unjust. For example at Silverstone we could have lost a youngster by a mistake of his opponent and he got away with a 10sec penalty which of course was no penalty at all…
