Welcome!
and since you mentioned about them shirts… I really hope you are of smaller stature like me haha

Hello fellow members, i've just joined this forum today and am seeking to keep more in touch with the iron heart life.
A bit about me:
I avoid germs
I try to follow a healthy diet
I am a student
I started my first pair of raws in summer 2005
I am a pretty boring person
I am also a very serious person
I really love to laughThat about sums me up! And once again, hello to all of you!
-
haha, i forgot to go over that!
though people think of me as a germaphobe, i haven't washed my SExIH03's for roughly 1.5 years of occasional wear. just cold rinses every 4-5 months or so.
My philosophy is that i avoid "soiling" my hands (or any other body part thereof) for the reason that i do not see why i should have to suffer the effects of a common cold virus. I really hate feeling like crap, not wanting to do crap, and being crappy towards others because of my crap feeling when i could have just not touched that door knob or stair handle.
So in essence, i just avoid germs because i have learned my lesson. i do not feel like getting sick and i do not want to feel horrible for 2-3 weeks especially during those stressful times at school!
when it comes down to it, i can get down and dirty (pun intended)
-
ah, i also forgot again to put in a key word(s).
I avoid germs as much as i can. i know it is impossible to avoid all germs. hell, germs live on the skin! I learned this the hard way ever since i got a staphylococcus infection.

Hi, I lurked this forum for some time now but since I got my first IH product (dufflebag) today it is a good reason to say hi.
I ordered a IH-634S too but I messed up the sizing. But thanks too the very patient Giles I have a diff size coming up!
I wore Atelier la Durance but the brand is getting way too popular here in Holland. So I looked on the internet and now must .. complete…. wishlist.....
IHSH-20
IHSH-17
IHSH-07
IHJ-04
IH-9634 -
How goes it mvb? You will love the duffel if you already don't. And good luck on all your desired items in 2010! Cheers

ALD is that big in The Netherlands?.. Weird… No one (but me) wears that stuff here. I don't like their new stuff though - assembled in China... I still proudly wear my overdyed Prescotts, MiF (made in France). Gonna have 'm tapered slightly. I'll probs wear them lots more that way. They're 18 months old and looking purdy good already, though...
Which one(s) do you wear?..
Obligatory pics btw:
-
yea, especially now they have washed and slim fitted jeans it's very popular here. I still think the prescott is really nice (made in france!). I wear only the prescotts as the royal and frontier pants dont fit me really well. I liked the non selvedge prescott the best.
What belt is that Seul?
And yeah the duffel is great! Finally a REAL bag to take to the gym, work and such! I'm gonna ritually burn my old sucky backpack (from my highschool days, 13 yrs in use) in my chimney one of these days! Prbably gonna give a nice aroma whehehughugh
-
Well, ALD has gone bankrupt anyhow, have they not?.. Too bad…
I buy all my belts from this dude:
http://stores.ebay.com/Dangerous-Threads
Excellent quality for that price… My black belt JUST is starting to get soft, after about 18 months of wear... I only wear 2" belts as well. Have a 1 3/4 for my shorts, though.
-
Seul, I've just checked out http://stores.ebay.com/Dangerous-Threads . Thanks for the recommendation ! I'm going to buy one for my brother-in-law. He wears a waist 33 in Levis 501. What belt size should I get him ?
-
Phew ! I got lucky cuz I just placed an order for a 13/4", W34. But I emailed the guy (owner I presume – Bob Kitchener) and he replied almost immediately, with the same answer as you Seul. The reason I said "Phew" is because I went with a 1 3/4" belt. My bro-in-law is a skinny, lanky dude (like LandoCal)...he wears his 501s a bit loose, which he likes. No, I'm never gonna convert him to Iron Heart. He makes a good living but has two kids. His wife, my sister -- also works and makes a decent living. Unless you're made of wealth, people with young kids ain't gonna do a lot of Iron Heart -- it's much too expensive. Plus, he's just not into fashion...he doesn't give a shit about it, though he still looks good in whatever he wears. But I'll tell ya what...my bro-in-law rocks Levis 501s better than anyone...they look great on him ! This belt is a gift from me to him -- and it will look GREAT with his 501s ! Thanks Seul !

Seul, I ended up changing the order and buying him two belts – brown and black -- in a 1.5", W34. I spoke with the owner this morning, Bob Kitchener -- what a cool dude ! The bro-in-law told me that he prefers a 1.5" to a 1.75". But I've advertised http://stores.ebay.com/Dangerous-Threads to folks at work…and several folks (including my VP !) have put in orders. Hey, Giles...don't worry. ALL of my colleagues at work know about Iron Heart -- so I'm doing great PR work for IH too (I'm pretty much a walking billboard for Iron Heart). It's just that the community of people who'd appreciate Iron Heart is much smaller -- especially in a high tech company full of engineers (nerds).

I don't mind spending 300 $ on jeans, but all those bigger denim brands' accesoires are ridiculously high priced… 300 $ belts?.. C'mon now... I either buy from Bob, or have Nicholas from Hollows Leather make me a customised item. Right now I asked him to make me a tan 2", dual prong belt to go with my new boots. Much cheaper and very high quality.

Seul, I haven't seen the Dangerous-Threads belt "live" yet…but they look beautiful and heavy-duty in the photo. [Arriving this next week !]. But yes…Iron Heart belts are ridiculously expensive. It'll be interesting to compare and contrast. I doubt that the details and the metal (i.e. the IH belts I own use brass) on the Dangerous-Threads compare to IH insane quality levels, but then again...I see your point. Who cares ? It's just a fuckin' belt...and the Dangerous-Threads ones pass the IH outfit test -- they're certainly gonna blend in, age beautifully, look and feel great ! At a certain point..leather is...just leather. All leather belts get a "patina" with frequent wear. And Mr. Dangerous-Threads offers a lifetime guarantee for quality and construction -- that's an extremely confident statement about your product !
