Red Wing Shoes

I've got both the R M Williams saddle dressing and the Red Wing mink oil they aren't the same at all, the Williams seems to be a blend of waxes and the Red Wing is as it says mainly mink oil although I think there is wax in it. I've used both on my Iron Rangers and IMO they soften and protect the leather pretty much the same the only difference that I've noticed is that the Red Wing oil seems to waterproof the leather slightly better but as a minus point it also seems to make the boots smell a bit of the oil. The Williams dressing certainly won't do any harm to them so if you've got it give them a coat.

Fantastic progress! I think I need a pair of roughouts one day, too.

no prob. i like them alot, not nearly as bulky as other red wings i own. they definitley have a "dressier" feel. i much prefer them to my clarks desert boots.

just gave my GT's a clean and treatment. they will be put away until the nice and cold months of sept on outward. really would love to get my hands on some Iron Rangers now though.
however, i think i'll do better with the IH Vibergs.
