I just had a shell cordovan strap mate. My mate sorted out the details but if your interested will get the details of the guy who did it. Pics to follow when it gets delivered…..

I got a chance to see a prototype of the Cartier Diver's Watch today. I've posted it before, but it's a fully certified diving watch despite it looking rather less macho than the competition.
It's a pretty big watch, but slimmer than my Breitling. Retail in the UK is £5800.
I'm in two minds about it. I like it, but the Blancpain Bathyscaphe is a bit more expensive (at £7200, retail), and is probably a better finished piece.

I meant to ask for any suggestions on a thicker leather band, I have been wanting to change it up a little bit and think some leather may do the trick. Any help is appreciated.
Horween no 8 shell cordovan strap purchased from jankoxxx.eu.
My mate recently purchased an omega speed master and I had been toying with the idea of getting a shell cordovan strap for ages. My mate contacted a guy near the horween tannery who makes watch straps, who recommended that he get in touch with the guy at jankoxxx.eu, who is one of the only guys to do genuine horween she'll cordovan straps in Europe (apparently).
Cost us £80 for each strap and we ordered one each. This one was designed to my specs, I wanted a two part strap with NATO style buckles to hold the strap in place. It was a toss between whiskey cordovan and no 8 (burgundy/on blood. I'm really glad that I picked this colour and that I had the strap lined.
It's a beautiful strap, holes are well formed and it's stitched very well. I'm incredibly pleased with it - especially as I was quoted £1200 for an iwc bracelet (told them to fuck off).

Cutlasshound, nice strap! The watch isn't too shabby either.
Giles, I'm looking forward to seeing how the Pinion turns out. I like the design of the watch, particularly as my tastes are running more towards the simple these days. (And I note that it doesn't have a three day date cut-out to confuse Cartier wearers. )
If anyone is looking to spend far too much on a strap, Equus Leather make a few, but they're expensive. I haven't seen one close up, but I got one of their belts for my father for Christmas, and it's lovely.
