Watches - another OCD problem
-
So basically this is what happened…
- replaced the Weil leather bracelet with Hirsch leather one: 40 €
- tore through it in a couple of months, I inquire about a metal bracelet
- they say that's not possible, but they'll try and find some pieces to fit on it
- I go ahead and buy the Seiko (90 €) and even have it shortened to my wrist (5 €)
- in the meanwhile they have my Weil and the dad (family business) says "it's a shame to fool around with a Weil"... He makes it very obvious that he doesn't wanna attach a cheap bracelet to it cause it won't fit 100 %...
- I go in today and the son says it worked... 30 € for the metal bracelet plus 15 for the extra work...
- I hand over my Seiko to my bro, and he has it shortened, 5 €
He gets the Seiko as a gift, I get my Weil back, on a cheap bracelet... We're both happy...
I'm done with watches for a Weil...

Yeah: it's hopeless… Once again I am eyeing this Seiko… I could buy it and wear it on "formal" occassions, perhaps?..
But!.. Crystal: Hardlex :-\

I have decided it's time to simplify my life. I will be selling all my current "good" watches and using the funds to buy just one watch I can wear all the time. So the following will be being sold:
2 x Breitling Chronomats - both stainless steel
1 x Patek Philippe vintage (1954) gold manual wind calatrava
1 x JLC gold, time/date/day/month/moonphase with JLC deployant claspIf you have a serious interest in any of these, PM me.
All of these are currently at a watch maker being tweaked a polished ready for sale. He was extremely complimentary about the JLC and the PP, gave me values I should expect to get for them and told me that I should sell these through Christies or Bonhams…..Wow...

Nice G! Those are nice watches –- you're probably aware but just in case, fyi, Blancpain produces their own (free) magazine, lots of good stuff in there that might interest you. I've got my eye on the Villeret Complete Calendar Moonphase 40mm

G maybe you gonna contact Beyer chronometrie Bahnhofstrasse Zürich re your Calatrava. Family Beyer has some close relationship to Family Stern,

Anyone had any personal experience with Toshi straps?
I've got one, strap is good, customer service is excellent.

My 4 1/2 year old daily worn Marathon Chronograph Pilot Watch (It's a beast!)
I just bought a Feit handmade Bund Strap watchband for it (In naturale)
From the site:
The Bund Strap watchband was first used by WWII pilots because of its insulating properties. The leather band would ensure that the watch face would not freeze or burn a pilot’s wrist as they were exposed to extreme conditions.Feit Strap finally showed up today after a one month 6 day trip from "down unda"!
Installed and I LIKE IT!

Me too. Awesome strap and service. He's very, very serious about meeting his self imposed deadlines as well. My only complaint is the watch I got the strap for is currently broken! The strap was tougher than the Lum-Tec!
