John Lofgren (Speedway)

@Nkwkfld as another option, you could go custom with Wesco. It’s an one off 100$ and they send you a kit to measure your feet. Downside, you have to be patient. I wait since 11 months for mine (that’s why I placed orders for two further pairs and distributed the orders evenly ).
Others do offer custom as well but waiting time will be similar or worse (Role Club).
Anyways, it’s worth the wait, it’s worth the money, Engineers/ Slip on/ Roper are great. -
Thanks @Dmart that's a good idea. I'm hoping to try the Wesco engineers that are heading to IHUK but if they don't work out going custom might be the way to go.
-
@Chris at Wesco should be here at the anny party. He could take your measurements, can't think of anyone better to do that….
-
Great @Giles that sounds like a plan!

natural CLX donkeys arrived on Thursday
The natural CLX looks fantasticBut the burgundy are my holy grail
-
Great denim with great boots , love it

@Pipeboss713 finally getting some heat on those Causeways… did you see Standard&Strange has another run of these. They are even more grainy than the last run. -
Shinki Combats

@BloodnThunder
Love those man! How are you liking them? How does the black shinki compare to the brown shinki on the causeways? I wanted these but they sold out in my size, so I bought a pair of the black engineers in the same leather!! Can’t wait to get them -
Here’s a couple shots of my causeways…

Damn @Memphisakers those are way sick!! I’m thinking real hard on pulling the trigger on some lofgren’s engineers in the natural cxl! They would be my first engineers. I love how they look but am feeling a little trigger shy about the styling for me personally. I’m not a pants cuffed. Like my leg to stack just a touch. Seems 99.9% of folks wear em cuffed.
-
@Memphisakers They're a special boot. Like the causeways the grain varies amongst books. My pairs happen to be somewhat similar between each pair as far as grain intensity. The combats definitely come up more shiny than the causeways but that may go away over time. If you can get hold of a pair I'd highly recommend them. Only issue I have with owning a few pairs of Lofgren's in Shinki is it becomes the only leather you want and the cxl leathers no longer quite satisfy.
-
@Mizmazzle I totally get that feeling man… It is definitely a style that makes a statement. Honestly I think I like engineers better without cuffs and I tend to stack my jeans up just a little also. The natural cxl is one of my favorite leathers and the stuff used on the Lofgrens is beautiful! Have you tried on a pair yet?
-
@BloodnThunder Thanks for the comparison man! Have you seen the new run of causeways? The pictures on S&S are CRAZY… they are super grainy. They almost look like Gators I freakin dig it!
-
I love my Lofgren engineers so much — I think next year I'm going to get a pair of the black Shinkis in 12.5 with the blacked out soles, since my 12s in CXL were a bit brutal to get on for quite a while, not to mention the fact that I wouldn't mind a little extra room in the toe.
That leather is bonkers. Plus it smells so good, gahhhh.
-
I feel the same way about them @popvulture By far the most comfortable boots I’ve ever put on my feet! A pair of black shinki in my size popped up on the Bay and I couldn’t resist…

Thinks for the input @Memphisakers
Ive been chatting with the Standard&Strange shop the last couple hours. I’ve never tried on a pair as there isn’t a shop that carries them in Denver (that I know of). I’m a size 9 iron ranger and they stuck by the same size rule since I’ve spoke with them. Even though some guys here say size down 1/2 size from red wings. What to do what to do…?
