Nice @Karol ! those look sweet! Are the lowers a different leather than the uppers?
-
@Crease No, it's the same 1964 Black smooth 7-8oz, however you have a good eye as the lower part has already undergone one light Saphir Renovateur coat that has stayed overnight before polishing, and after another week of wear and daily polishing I added super light coat of Saphir Mirror Gloss. That too stayed overnight and since then (2 weeks) they just been polished after each wear.

New role club engineers just came in. These were from the ready to wear run that Brian did recently. I hadn’t planned on another pair of boots for some time but when the opportunity to get these without the long wait came up I jumped on them - I waited 2 years for my underdogs but I believe the waitlist is back down significantly now.
Brian was kind enough to lower the heel on these for me so they’re on his low woodsman heel rather than the full woodsman on the rest of the run.
These are on his new last which I believe falls between the 2 existing lasts that he uses for his engineers, one of them being quite sleek and the other a bit fuller in the toebox.
The leather is listed as Italian horsehide and I believe it’s from the maryam tannery but I could be wrong about that.

Beauties

Also @VoodooRay those RCs look sick — I just got a pair of black ones. The wait time has indeed come down quite a bit, took about 8 or 9 months for me, I think. I was a little scared with the price and the whole process, but they fit perfectly.
-
@popvulture Nice 1, I’m pretty pleased with these but was just thinking it would have been worth the wait time to get them made to measure rather than a stock size, my underdogs have a noticeably better fit.
If getting made to measure ones this is the make up I would have gone for so I was pleased that Brian was willing to customise the heel for me, pretty decent of him I thought.
Enjoy your new boots!

@pechelman Im having tech issues. Hopefully these upload correctly this time.
Check your DM’s sent you some thoughts I have.Nothing but love for Toscanello, but I ADORE the brown Horween CXL. Can’t go wrong with either.
-
Thanks @Autorotate !
Curious as to what is it about the CXL you like so much more. Just the color or something to do with it being less stiff than the horsehide, or ?
-
@pechelman
The leathers are very similar. I like the brown color/tone better. More compatible with the colors in my wardrobe.
And for me it’s a shame I can’t try these things on in a showroom. There’s no substitute for wearing them with your favorite jeans/pants. My mind’s eye is so often “off” when picking colors.
I also have black, and it’s worth mentioning that the quality control from each boot to the next is perfect. They all fit the same, break in the same… just a superior piece of lifetime footwear. -
A little teaser

@Anesthetist Stop being a tease and whip it out so that we can all look at it…

These are the RDT Coupen Mid Cut in Italian teacore horse. I wanted a shoe that’s wear like a boot but be more comfortable and lighter. This pair hits the nail on the head and I think have a potential to be on my feet for a very long time.
I wish I could somehow send the lovely smell they have. It immediately took me back to ca 1996 or so when I tied up my first pair of Docs. Pure heaven 🥺
-
@Anesthetist dig those man! I’ve never heard of RDT before.
-
@Anesthetist beautiful boots right down to the hairy laces.
-
@Anesthetist love those!
-
Love RDTs! Very comfortable and roomy, and I’ve been nothing but pleased with the quality of my Caspers.
