Cheers @louisbosco , Pam doesn't really like BMW's but I'll get her to look at one and maybe test drive all three.

^which markets offer a 1-series hatch?
In NA we only have the X1, which is no longer RWD option.

Yes, because she really needs that RWD drifting ability…..
hahaha you'd never know. a RWD is always more fun to drive regardless of skills. makes the school run just a little more exciting..
@Appfaff i guess most markets do. europe/australia and asia. the US market for hatchbacks isn't there yet. it's the same with audi's rs3 which was only available recently in the sedan form and same with MB which doesn't have the a45 amg hatch but the CLA45 amg.

The perpetual teenager in me wishes BMW had called that the M4 DTF…
-
DTF. Down to fail. the m4 is shite. sorry guys. pretty much a E92 M3. and everywhere and everyone i've mentioned this (it's probably an unpopular opinion) but the E90 4 door M3 is miles better than the 2 door coupe E92 M3/M4

Rather have a V10 M5

@Finn666 Rafa. it depends what you want. it's totally different with the m550 compared with the 320d. firstly, the 5 is no slouch, but it's additional weight on top of the 3 which make the 3 feels really brilliant in handling once you go back to it. secondly, i like the look of the f10 than the new G series 5 or the e60(kinda). lastly, the xdrive would help depending on your climate where you live. but then again, what's a beemer without RWD??????
is diesel a must? otherwise, why not the m535i?
-
hey there buddy @louisbosco thanks for getting back. diesel is definitely a must since i really drive a shitload of km…love the comfort of the 5-series compared to the 3-series...that's exactly what i'm looking for. need/want more comfort and more power...looked at the 535xd as well. still trying to figure out what would be best.

can't really comment on the differences in the power delivery between the two diesels engines as i don't/ have never driven diesels at all. you were driving the e90 3 series right or was it the f30? it's definitely a step up from the 3 although the newer f30 3s are not too shabby itself.
depending on the model of the 535, the engine either uses 1 or 2 turbochargers with different fuel rail pressure. whereas the 550 uses 3 in different sizes. you're in germany anyway, if you can, go with the more powerful model, you get to use it on the autobahn anwyay.. let us know how it goes and what's the options lists on the car too!
