Just pulled the trigger on a tricotine shirt in (hopefully) my size. I was leaning towards the extra heavy indigo flannel (Amundsen), but there's always room for another long sleeve in New England.
I'll post some initial impressions once it arrives.

@Louisclsu1 congrats dude! I ended up switching the Extra heavy flannel order I made to the selvedge heavy indigo flannel. Stoked to see what its all about....Tricotine looks dope! Not sure why I haven't pulled the trigger on that one yet....

Just arrived! I got it from iron pyrite productions (online, no brick and mortar at this time). Quick delivery, no issues whatsoever. Had a nice back and forth with the business owner as well.
First impressions are quite positive. Substantial in heft at 15 oz, solid construction and fit is great. I could have fit into a size 4 as a shacket, but feel good about the choice of a 3 (6"2, 175). I won't have a chance to break it in for a few more weeks (hopefully) but will post updates.

I grabbed a 14.5oz Indigo flannel from them last week. Wow...I was shocked at how nice it was. I'm a bigger guy 6' 205lb and the size 5 fits perfect with plenty of room like I prefer. 14.5oz is a really heavy fabric but it moves well and is extremely comfortable. I have plenty of IH gear but a heavy flannel has escaped me thus far so I can't give a direct apples to apples comparison between the two products. But I do have several heavy flannels from Freenote Cloth, Indigofera and Naked and Famous and I can say that it stacks up perfectly with FNC, IF and wipes the floor with Naked and Famous. For the price they cannot be beat and if you are fortunate enough to grab one on sale you would be foolish not to pick one up.
I did read in an earlier post that there was a concern with the length of their offerings. Again, I'm 6' tall and the size 5 has plenty of length for me and I prefer my flannels to be a bit oversized. YMMV

@Louisclsu1 IS that the tricotine?
-
@Mizmazzle yes it is. I almost grabbed the Amundsen shirt from Bears, but waited too long.
I've put in two wears already with the tricotine and can't wait to break it in. The heavy flannel version is surely softer, but I don't find it uncomfortable or too stiff at all.

Iron Shop Provisions still has the Amundsen in a 3
-
I saw! It looks fantastic but may hold off until I can put in some time with the tricotine.
Wearing it today, in fact. Underneath is a Dubbleware chambray, which i just picked up from @Giles

Looks like the Amundsen is currently in stock and the Tri is due to restock at the end of Sept. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these but I hesitate because of my size. I have an Indigo heavy flannel in size 5 that fits perfectly fine but it looks like these are cut quite a bit trimmer. Anyone have any insight on this? Damn...it sucks to be a fat American. rofl

UES is another great brand. Got their T shirts, socks and a flannel. XL in Iron Heart is roughly 4 in UES. The fit is very good. I just love the fabric of the UES flannel, its unbrushed outside and somehow coarse and rugged but cosy and comfortable. On the inside it is brushed think once, and it wears so good, not leaving any of those lint balls or showing any wear on the inside... This pink I wore recently on the trip to Shenzen, and the grey T under is also UES, their supima T line ... very good and soft, yet robust T.

Didn't realize there was a UES thread here. Big fan of their shirting. Just ordered the Amundsen flannel from Redcast - there is still about an hour left on their anniversary sale for 15% off. looking forward to comparing this against the Tricotine.
-
Head's up for folks looking for a Tricotine. Bears in Tokyo has all sizes in inventory right now. Shouldn't last long. Great price too.
Cheers!
-
All but Small sold out already. Yikes!
-
Everything was sold out on the UES site an hour after it went live. lol Guess I'll just have to wait until they restock or I bite the bullet and pay $100 more from a US retailer.
-
Was able to snag a Tricotine in my size this time. I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks and feels compared to my Extra Heavy Amundsen flannel I got earlier this year. UES make wonderful shirts/flannels. Highly recommended.

Interesting...when I switch to English it says it is out of stock. So I can't log into my UES account and order because it switches to an out of stock item. I'll be patient...kinda....sorta... lol

Tricotine with Amundsen. Got my tricotine last Christmas so didn't get a chance to put a ton of wear into it but it definitely starts to fade quick. Probably going to wear it more as a "shacket" if we have another mild winter. The Amundsen feels much lighter in comparison but has such a comfortable feel to it.
