My sweater arrived today, just two days after ordering. From Oregon to West Virginia too. And wow this thang is WARM! I went outside and wore it over a tshirt and nearly fainted as it's 90 degrees out here.
Nice and roomy is how I like it. I went with XL with this one and I wear XXL with all of my UHFs. So glad I chose this one. Come on Autumn!
Edit: thanks Dennis, I had to scroll over to the right. The grey scroll bar didn't move the icons, I had to touch the icons and scroll that way to see the photo upload icon. Either way your screenshot helped me along the way.

@Oaktavia Wow that looks great!

@Danimal506 thanks man! It is an amazing sweater.
-
@Oaktavia it’s perfect!
Thanks man, glad I went with the usual consensus of sizing down one from UHF size. I can layer a flannel underneath and will otherwise wear a long sleeved tshirt under it. Ain't no way this wool is touching my bare arms, haha.
Many moons ago I used to love thrifting old wool cardigans. This one reminds me of some of those, only new. Like new dead stock...but NEW new.

@Mizmazzle this is the way!

Hello friendly IH friends,
I am here for some top tips for those of you who have. I have been a fan of Dehen for some time and have a few of their pieces which I wear a lot, specifically the varisty jacket and the crissman wool shirts; they're absolute fire. I had some of the sweaters and cardigans too but the cuffs got to me, after wearing it all day I felt like my arms where slowly being suffocated and by the end of the day couldn't wait to get it off. I think that kind of cuff, the one on the cardigan, lends itself better to a jacket, in my limited an humble opinion of course.Enter the question zone: I am considering the flyers club jacket in the 24oz melton wool as a layerable (I think I just made that word up, I take full credit for smoothlessly sliding it in) winter alternative to a very serious ceccarelli waxed down jacket I have for those ever so sunny and bright winter days in Hamburg. What's the word on the street about the flyers club jacket? I love the silhouette of the Jacket and the gold zipper really pops against the black wool. Don't get me started on the orange lining, damn, I love it. So, I'm sold on the Jacket but, and it's a big but, is it warm? Anyone?

@BalticBob in my limited exp with the flyers club it's definitely only a shoulder season jacket. I ordered the waxed model from James Dant but it was way to short for my frame. Looked great but it was not to be

@BalticBob my wife has the black waxed flyers club with the orange sateen lining. It’s a beautiful piece, but like @CosmoSix5 mentioned, it’s not a super cold weather jacket. Good down to freezing with some layers id say for short amounts of time.
I’d imagine the wool one might be a bit warmer, but probably not by too much.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I was hoping you would say something else to be honest
I am scouting some possible alternatives to a less hardcore winter jacket since I missed the A2 this season. Any suggestions? I was looking at Freenote again but the waxed RJ-1 is probably not warm enough, even the 20oz one, and the CD-4 is pretty much ideal but there are none in Europe in my size. Happy to hear some alternatives from the experts.

Guys, Dehen released an insulated version of the Flyers Club jacket in the melton wool and well, my will power to resist it was completely eroded. I bought the Jacket, the shipping and import costs were really far cheaper than I imagined they would be, and it arrived yesterday. It's really an absolutely killer jacket and the insulation makes it quite warm.
Today I wore it with just a think long sleeve Tshirt under it in around 8°C and it was really warm and last night I was out in 5°C with some wind walking the dog with my IHJ-118 underneath and I was actually a little too warm. The zipper is new and a little sticky but I guess this will get smoother but it's a great jacket and the collar is so soft and warm. Highly recommend!
I have the varsity jacket and although they are similar with the wool body, the leather sleeves mean the varsity jacket is not really suitable for really cold weather unless you're only out for short periods of time.
Next to Iron Heart, Dehen really is comparable in terms of quality. Really happy with their stuff!

@BalticBob don’t keep us waiting!! Pics please!

This is my first time posting so fit pics so don’t judge too hard. I had to set the timer up and use my front camera from a low angle…I guess this is the angle my children see
The new flyers club Jacket is a M, fits really well and I took a picture of the lining which now has some insulation.
