IH-9634 Super Black

Super Blacks!!! Don't really see the point.
WHAT?!? Elaborate please…
A black denim, that fades reallllly slowly. Find that rather dull tbh

While I own a pair of 9634Z and love them, I can totally see your point. If you are into BLUE jeans and dig the way they fade and do the wabi-sabi thing then "fadeless" black jeans are obviously not gonna give you a big thrill.
I like both concepts because they are on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Got it in one Till. Dark indigo fades to a lovely blue/white hue that still looks great. Black fades to grey and looks washed out and past their use by date and thus need replacing. All imho of course.

I wear the 9301 Slim Super Black (W28) from Self Edge in San Francisco and yes – they do stretch. Mine have stretched at least an inch in the waist since I've owned them...and I've never washed/soaked them plus I've worn them around 30 times. I'm glad that these jeans were rather tight when I bought them because now, they're actually a little loose.

HD, the thing with black and especially the IH Superblack is that it is really easy to "refresh" them. When they are grey-ish and you don't like the look just throw them in the washing machine with some black fabric dye. I've done that with underwear and t-shirts and it works great. Or you could actually apply a dark blue dye and do your own overcast. Like the new "sexy" overdye jeans just the other way around, you start with a black and do a blue overdye. I imagine the result would be pretty interesting. Since many of these dyes come in powder form, you can even mix a bit of blue and black pigment.
Shub, don't worry. If you give them a hot wash or even follow it with a hot tumble dry, they will shrink back. Perhaps not the full inch but a good amount.

Your "refreshing" technique sounds very interesting Till. When my Super Black Iron Hearts look old and washed out [which will likely happen in the next millenium, given my gentle life], I may just have to try a dark blue dye on 'em – wow, that would be cool !
Yeah, I know that when I do a hot wash/hot tumble dry, the jeans will be nice and snug again. When I bought them, I could barely stick my fingers in my front pockets -- they were that tight ! And now -- well, perhaps you saw the pics I posted last week, wearing my 9301 Slim Super Blacks ? They weren't baggy at all -- just looser than I'd like. So yeah -- IH Super Black jeans sure as hell do stretch at least an inch if not more, with repeated wear.

i see. well Self Edge has a 29 (im a 30) in stock. But if its better to go TTS then i'll have to get the 9634z. i really want the button version though.
ADDIC – trust me. Get the W29. THESE STRETCH ! And they hardly shrink. If they're ultra tight when on, be patient...in 2 weeks, they'll be just right.
PS...I'm so glad I got in on the button-fly ! A pair of W29 boot-cut (altered to a L32) is on its way to me from Giles. I've heard the Z version is softer (both from Till and people on SuFu). So the Z version must be far more comfortable at first wear. The button-fly version is stiff and crispy upon initial wear -- but I love it. The button-fly version also softens up considerably -- after 2 washes.
