damn the customs are brilliant. i remember a video or something awhile back with a whole bunch of them. or something similar, done by the japs.
@summ3rhays i remember you owing a ducati quite a while back am i right?
Yeah, I have a Multistrada right now. I used to ride a Sport Classic. It was fun and so pretty, but damn uncomfortable.
-
I really like the brown version of this Roland Sands seat. With a tail tidy and some bar end mirrors it would be a proper cruise around town bike. Pretty badass pic too. haha
-
Rizoma do some very nice tail tidies for the R nine T. There's a version of the Thruxton model I'm looking at, and another that mounts off the swing arm.
Throw on a set of compact LED indicators and a nice exhaust, along with the Roland Sands seat and bar-end mirrors, and you'd have a cool bike.
But you'd need prisoner pants to get the complete look.
-
Well, I pulled the trigger today on the bike. I went with the US version of the tail tidy above with those indicators. The bike comes stick with an Akropovic, but I would like a different look. I also went with the retro bar end Rizoma mirrors. I'll post when all the upgrades are on it, but for now a stock.
-
Cool bike @summ3rhays. Now all I have to do is convince @Sam to get the Racer, and my work here is done!
You'd better check if the Rizoma mirrors are compatible with the stock handlebars. I've heard of a few instances where they don't work due to internal threading.
I'm looking forward to seeing it with all the goodies in place. I'm particularly interested in the tail tidy, as I've got to get around to ordering one for my bike. I can't ride at the moment because my spectacles are broken, so accessorising it is the only option left open to me.
-
Well i woke up thinking about that bike @Graeme so i might not need too much convincing.
I must get up to alton next weekend for their launch. The video of the Lady riding the bike looks great but she looks like she's struggling to reach the handle bars. I'm hoping i won't look the same.
Congrats on pulling the trigger @summ3rhays Is it a long wait? Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
-
You're pretty tall @Sam, and the R nine T isn't that big a bike. I'm sure you'll be fine.
If you do make it up to Alton, we want pictures! Well, I do.
Bahnstormer are a good bunch. They used to look after my R1200R when I was in London. You've also got Loomies
CaféCaff up that way. -
now that my dad left behind all his motorcycle gear (leather jacket, helmets, vests, glasses, gloves and way more other things) i really now have to get a bike this year to get me started.
still thinking about a HD 48 to cop…though a Road King (as he had one) is also on the never ending wish list! :-\
-
@Sam:
I'm sure i would be fine… just don't want to be lying on it like you do with that BMW Alpha! Looks amazing but looks terribly uncomfortable.
I'll send photos for sure! @Finn666 I loved my 48 when i had it. sobs i'd recommend it but would it be your first ever bike?
I'm with you on the uncomfortable. After putting 20k miles on the Sport Classic I can't handle the idea of being stretched out again. Maybe it's not that extreme, but I'm even shying away form clip ons for the same reason.
The seat is set to be delivered on Monday. I'm not sure about the Rizoma.
Good call @Graeme on the mirrors. They actually require the bar ends to fit so I have those ordred as well.
-
@Sam I found the lower bar kit on the Thruxton feels more comfortable, because it increases the seat to bar distance. The Ducati Sport Classic was a real stretch, and I think is longer than the Thruxton.
@summ3rhays glad to help.
@Finn666 I'd also look at the Harley Sportster Roadster. It's got upgraded brakes and suspension, so goes a bit better than other bikes by the MoCo. Along with the Lowrider S, which you should also consider, it's had good reviews.
The Triumph Bobber would be on my shopping list, and I think it's nicer than the Sportster.
-
congrats. @summ3rhays it's a really lovely bike. maybe also because i've got a slight affection for bmw motorrad.
-
I think that my quest for indicators might be over. I'm liking the new Rizoma Leggera.
Now I just need to find somewhere who'll sell me a set.

Nice! Those will look awesome on the Thruxton.
-
@Sam and @summ3rhays, the R nine T really needs the aluminium tank on it. Apparently the version with the exposed is even sexier.
The Leggera indicators are unavailable until late April. Looks like I'll have to wait.
-
The aluminum tank looks amazing.
Here is a little update after I swapped out the seat with the Roland Sands
